About Melleka Marketing
Melleka Marketing is a full-service marketing agency helping businesses grow through social media, digital advertising, content creation, web design, SEO, and more.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is not only highly organized, but also has strong video editing and graphic design skills. We want someone who knows how to turn raw footage and ideas into dynamic, entertaining, scroll-stopping content — not just basic cuts and transitions.
You'll be responsible for taking content from idea to creation to scheduled post, including video editing, graphics, carousels, story content, captions, and scheduling.
This is a full-time, in-person position. Please apply only if you are able to reliably commute to our office Monday through Friday.
What You'll Do
- Manage social media content for approximately 20 client accounts
- Create and schedule approximately 3 posts per week, per client across LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, & Facebook (approximately 60 posts per week total)
- Create short-form videos, long-form YouTube videos, static graphics, carousels, story posts, and other social media content
- Edit raw video footage into highly engaging, dynamic, and entertaining videos designed to hold attention
- Incorporate advanced editing elements such as 3D text overlays, motion graphics, animated captions, sound effects, music, transitions, zooms, visual effects, B-roll, and other attention-grabbing elements
- Design static posts, story graphics, multi-slide carousels, promotional graphics, and branded social media content
- Use GoHighLevel to schedule and organize client social media posts
- Maintain organized content calendars and ensure posts are created, approved, and scheduled on time
- Manage multiple client deadlines, revisions, and content needs simultaneously
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is both highly creative and extremely organized. Managing approximately 20 clients requires the ability to work efficiently, stay ahead of deadlines, and quickly switch between different brands, industries, and creative styles.
Video editing is a major part of this position. We are specifically looking for someone who can create content that feels modern, fast-paced, polished, and entertaining.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous social media management or content creation experience
- Strong short-form and long-form video editing skills
- A portfolio demonstrating dynamic, engaging video editing — not just basic cuts and captions
- Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, and other vertical video content
- Strong graphic design skills with the ability to create static posts, carousels, stories, and other branded social graphics
- Ability to manage a high volume of content and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with GoHighLevel is a plus
- Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing/design software
How to Apply
Please email your resume and portfolio/examples of social media content you've created to lexie@mellekamarketing.com with subject line: Social Media Manager [Your Name].
If you have examples of short-form videos, Reels, TikToks, graphics, or social media accounts you've managed, we'd love to see them.

Social Media Content Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a social media content professional in California?
California does not require a state license to work in social media content, so the path runs through education and portfolio building. Most hiring managers look for a degree in communications, marketing, or digital media, often from a California State University or UC campus program. Completing internships with California brands, building a published body of work on public-facing accounts, and earning platform certifications from Google or Meta strengthen a candidate's profile considerably.
Which companies hire social media contents in California?
Companies currently hiring social media contents in California include Upper Deck, Agua Caliente Casinos, and KWSM, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of entertainment studios, technology headquarters, and direct-to-consumer brands makes it one of the most consistent hiring markets for this role nationwide.
Which California cities have the most social media content jobs?
Los Angeles, San Diego, and Beverly Hills account for the largest share of social media content openings in California. Los Angeles dominates because of its entertainment studios, influencer economy, and major brand headquarters, while San Francisco and San Diego draw demand from technology companies and consumer health and lifestyle brands with large in-house content teams.
Are there remote social media content jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 37% of social media content openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well suited the work is to digital collaboration. Content strategy, copywriting, and scheduling roles tend to be the most consistently remote, while video production and on-site brand activation roles typically require an in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a social media content professional in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a coordinator or associate content role through an internship or junior posting at a California technology company, entertainment studio, or consumer brand. Employers like Salesforce, Paramount, and major agency networks in Los Angeles regularly post entry-level openings for candidates with a strong portfolio, even without formal job history. Lateral moves from community management or digital marketing assistant roles are a common on-ramp, and completing a Meta or Google digital marketing certification gives candidates a measurable credential edge.
Where can I find and apply to social media content jobs in California?
You can find and apply to social media content jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
