Position Overview
The Licensed Counselor will provide counseling to a diverse caseload of individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, delivering individual and group therapy, and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure client-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct evaluations and provide therapeutic interventions for adults with substance use disorders
Perform intake services for new and transferring clients
Engage clients in their recovery journey, ensuring compliance and participation
Perform detailed assessments, including formulation, differential diagnosis, treatment, and safety planning
Deliver individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices
Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with OMH, OASAS, and organizational standards
Assist in developing and enhancing evidence-based group therapy curriculums
Attend professional training and seminars to maintain clinical competence
Provide training and guidance to clinical staff on mental health diagnoses
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case conferences
Offer crisis intervention services as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in substance use disorder treatment or social work in a mental/behavioral health setting
Active and unrestricted CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC licensure in New York State
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (verbal and written)
Diplomacy, discretion, and cultural sensitivity in handling sensitive issues
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure while working with urgency and quality
