Third Party Risk Management Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a third party risk management in New York?
Most third party risk management roles in New York do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or information security alongside demonstrable compliance or vendor oversight experience. Candidates who earn recognized credentials such as the Certified Third Party Risk Professional designation or CRISC stand out in New York's competitive financial services hiring pool. Familiarity with New York Department of Financial Services guidance on third party risk is a meaningful differentiator when applying to banks and insurers headquartered in the state.
How much do third party risk managements make in New York?
Third party risk managements in New York earn a median of about $136,830 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $84,550 for the lowest 10% to over $220,260 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire third party risk managements in New York?
Employers hiring third party risk managements in New York right now include New York Life, Plaid, and Pfizer, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's concentration of global banks, insurance carriers, and healthcare systems means demand for this function is broad and relatively consistent across economic cycles.
Which New York cities have the most third party risk management jobs?
The cities with the most third party risk management openings in New York are New York, Norwich, and Bethpage. New York City dominates because it is home to the headquarters and major operational centers of the country's largest banks, insurers, and asset managers, all of which maintain formal vendor risk programs, while Buffalo and Albany draw demand from regional financial institutions, state agencies, and healthcare systems that operate across upstate New York.
Are there remote third party risk management jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of third party risk management openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Vendor due diligence reviews, risk assessment documentation, and GRC platform management translate well to distributed work arrangements, making fully remote roles more common here than in compliance functions that require physical presence.
How can I get hired as a third party risk management in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a junior vendor risk analyst or third party compliance coordinator role from an adjacent position in internal audit, procurement, or information security. Large New York financial institutions including global banks and major insurance carriers routinely hire candidates into rotational risk and compliance programs designed for recent graduates. Building familiarity with GRC tools and earning an entry-level credential such as the CISA positions you well, and targeting fintech firms in New York City that are scaling compliance functions can be faster than pursuing established institutions.
Where can I find and apply to third party risk management jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to third party risk management jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to New York employers and locations. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and specialization, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
