The Feedback Hub team enables customer feedback to drive product improvements across Windows and other Microsoft products. We are responsible for survey and user-initiated feedback platforms, diagnostics collection, and engineering workflows that connect customer-reported issues with the teams responsible for investigating and resolving them.
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead our investments in feedback actionability, diagnostics, and developer workflows. This role drives the systems that enrich, triage, route, and correlate customer feedback with engineering signals, enabling product teams to investigate issues more effectively and address customer feedback at scale.

Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy for feedback actionability across the Feedback Hub ecosystem.
- Build developer workflows that connect customer feedback, diagnostics, and engineering systems.
- Improve feedback quality through diagnostics collection, signal enrichment, and issue correlation.
- Group and prioritize related customer issues to accelerate investigation and resolution.
- Increase visibility into customer pain points, resolution progress, and customer outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the feedback and diagnostics platform.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale platforms, services, or engineering systems.
- Solid technical leadership and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
- Experience working with diagnostics, telemetry, developer productivity, workflow automation, or data-driven systems.
- Ability to drive ambiguous problems from concept through execution and measurable customer impact.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
