We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead technology-focused projects supporting U.S. Federal Government programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical project delivery, stakeholder management, Agile methodologies, and software/IT environments.
The Technical Project Manager will work closely with government stakeholders, technical teams, business users, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in alignment with Federal requirements and program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of technical projects supporting Federal Government clients.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, deliverables, and milestones.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Federal stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and program leadership.
- Translate business and mission requirements into actionable technical project plans.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including software engineers, cloud engineers, DevOps, cybersecurity, data, and business analysts.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog prioritization.
- Track project progress and provide regular status reports, dashboards, briefings, and executive-level updates.
- Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support requirements gathering, technical planning, solution delivery, testing, deployment, and operational transition.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable Federal policies, security requirements, SDLC processes, and governance standards.
- Coordinate with government Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), program managers, and other Federal stakeholders.
- Manage project documentation, schedules, action items, decisions, and deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and team performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing technical IT/software projects or programs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. Federal Government programs or contracts.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, and/or DevOps methodologies.
- Experience managing cross-functional technical teams and multiple concurrent priorities.
- Strong communication, presentation, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification preferred.
- Scrum Master, SAFe, Agile, or similar certification.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience working with DevSecOps, CI/CD, cybersecurity, data, AI/ML, or enterprise application environments.
- Experience supporting Federal agencies such as DOL, CMS, HHS, FDA, DHS, GSA, or similar agencies.
- Experience working in government contracting environments and understanding Federal acquisition/program processes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Federal security clearance or Public Trust.
