INTRODUCTION
Insituform Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Trainer.
Insituform Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Azuria Corporation, is a leading worldwide provider of highly specialized cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water, and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. The company provides cost-effective solutions to remediate operational, health, regulatory and environmental problems resulting from aging and defective pipelines. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Engineer Trainer will provide quality engineering and technical support/training in field environments and facilitate investigation/problem solving with the application of quality assurance tools, techniques, and processes. Evaluates crew proficiency operating standardized CIPP installation and boiler (steam) equipment. Provide supplemental equipment training if deficiencies are noted. This position has the potential for significant impact on failure costs and leads efforts to reduce the total cost of quality and specifically, the cost of nonconformance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform process, and quality system audits. Perform inspections and coaching to reinforce quality, productivity, and process, as well as manage training enrollments in critical development programs.
- Provide training on proper product handling methods and equipment operation. Ensure assigned crews are proficient at performing required work while conducting post-training performance evaluations. Communicate results back to management.
- Provide quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes, and services and the evaluation and selection of new technologies, suppliers, and product-related services.
- Investigate process and product issues that arise during the installation process to prevent recurrence. Report findings and corrective action requirements and conduct follow-up to ensure appropriate responses and follow-through.
- Initiate / coordinate tools and processes to manage quality information and the generation of summarized and conclusive reports and action plans.
- Support the advancement of business excellence initiatives, including support of corporation-wide ISO compliance and the deployment of targeted tools and practices. Collect, organize, monitor, and distribute information related to process management and improvement functions, including documentation of quality management standards.
- Study, investigate, and recommend new technologies, methods, tools, and procedures in the areas of process improvement, defect and waste elimination, change management, and operational excellence.
- Up to 70% overnight travel may be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control/assurance is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general CIPP installation processes and equipment a plus.
- NAPE Boiler Operator License/Certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical quality assurance and continuous improvement processes, tools, and applications.
- Specialized training or certification in one or more of the following preferred:
- Statistical Process Control
- Six Sigma
- Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Manufacturing Systems)
- ISO 9000
- Technical / engineering, project coordination, communications, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In the performance of duties for this position, the employee is: regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and taste or smell; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 65 pounds). Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability for extended concentration.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in an office/shop type environment but will required to travel to client sites and regularly be required to work in outside weather conditions (near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by pedestrian method, public transportation, automobile and/or airplane is required.
COMPENSATION
- Salary: The salary for this position starts at $75,000.
