The path to a devops manager role in Vermont typically begins with several years of hands-on work as a systems engineer, software developer, or cloud infrastructure specialist before moving into a lead or principal position. No state-issued license is required for this role in Vermont. Most employers here look for a combination of a technical bachelor's degree, demonstrated experience with cloud and automation tooling, and a history of coordinating cross-functional engineering work before promoting into management.
How much do devops managers make in Vermont?
Devops managers in Vermont earn a median of about $125,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $83,230 for the lowest 10% to over $181,190 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire devops managers in Vermont?
Employers hiring devops managers in Vermont right now include CVS Health, GlobalFoundries, and Exyte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Burlington drives the largest share of demand as Vermont's primary technology and commercial hub, home to a dense cluster of software companies and financial services firms, while Montpelier and South Burlington contribute openings from state government technology offices and established regional employers anchored in the greater Chittenden County corridor.
