.NET Application Support Engineer/Batch Operators (10 roles open)
Location: Mechanicsburg, PA (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire (RTH)
Preference: Local candidates preferred
Schedule: Willingness to work rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for enterprise .NET applications and batch processing systems
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot production infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability
- Develop, debug, enhance, and support applications using Microsoft .NET Framework and ASP.NET
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects including stored procedures, views, triggers, indexes, and SQL jobs
- Design and develop SSIS packages and SSRS reports for data integration and reporting requirements
- Generate and analyze Splunk reports to monitor application health, performance, and operational metrics
- Investigate, coordinate, and resolve application incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within SLA timelines
- Lead and participate in incident management activities, including incident bridge calls and stakeholder communications
- Coordinate with clients, support teams, business analysts, QA teams, project managers, and deployment teams to ensure timely issue resolution
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to avoid recurring incidents
- Manage technical documentation and collaborate using Microsoft SharePoint
- Utilize Azure DevOps/Git for source control, code management, release tracking, and deployment activities
- Support and manage batch processing activities, including job scheduling, monitoring, and execution
- Escalate critical issues appropriately and ensure seamless communication across teams
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in application development and production support
- 4+ years of hands-on production support experience with .NET applications
- Strong experience with Microsoft .NET Framework, ASP.NET, and C#
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
- 3+ years of experience developing and supporting SSIS packages
- Experience with SSRS report development and maintenance
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL query development and stored procedures
- Experience with BizTalk, SOAP, and RESTful services
- Experience with Splunk and cloud-based monitoring tools
- Strong knowledge of batch processing, batch design, scheduling, and execution
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as $U (Dollar Universe) or similar enterprise scheduling platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using Azure DevOps and Git version control systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident management, and change management practices
- Previous experience working in client-facing support environments
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work onsite in Mechanicsburg, PA
- Local candidates are strongly preferred
- Must be willing to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Flexibility to support business-critical production issues outside standard working hours when required
