This role supports platform configuration, operational controls, and technical governance implementation across regions and environments globally. - Partner with the Lead Platform Architect to translate architectural standards into enforceable platform configurations, controls, and governance mechanisms.
- Evaluate, design, and implement platform configurations that balance security, scalability, usability, and regional requirements while maintaining a consistent global posture.
- Guide and enable federated and regional platform engineering teams through expert advisory support, documented patterns, runbooks, PoCs, and onboarding of new capabilities and regions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, including 2+ years implementing Power Platform and other citizen-developer platforms.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in administering Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio), including environments, policies, connectors, licensing, and administrative controls within a global enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of platform configuration and administration, including the impact of settings and policies on security, compliance, scalability, and user experience.
- Experience leading technical proofs-of-concept to evaluate platform capabilities, configuration tradeoffs, and operational implications.
- Excellent technical communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose configuration or policy-driven issues and guide platform engineers and administrators across regions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to translate architectural guardrails and standards into enforceable platform configurations, controls, and operational practices.
- Experience implementing and operating Microsoft Power Platform and other citizen-developer platforms in an enterprise environment, including multi-region or federated models.
- Hands-on experience with additional citizen-developer or AI platforms (e.g., Claude CoWork) and familiarity with related technologies such as cloud platforms, databases, and security.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding STEM OPT Authorization as a Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer
Verify your CIP code before applying
Cross-reference your degree's CIP code against the STEM Designated Degree Program List that USCIS maintains. Degrees in computer science, data science, and information systems all typically qualify, but the specific CIP code on your transcript must match exactly.
Check E-Verify enrollment before accepting offers
Before signing any offer letter, confirm the employer is actively enrolled in E-Verify, not just registered. Ask HR for their E-Verify Company ID or look up the employer directly through the E-Verify employer search tool.
Build your Fabric portfolio before interviewing
Senior-level roles expect hands-on experience with lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, and Spark notebooks inside Microsoft Fabric. Document two or three end-to-end projects you can walk through technically, since hiring panels for this role run deep technical rounds.
Target companies with active DOL LCA filings
Use Migrate Mate to filter employers by their Labor Condition Application filing history for data engineering roles. Companies that file LCAs regularly are already set up to sponsor work authorization and understand the E-Verify requirement tied to STEM OPT.
Draft your I-983 training plan around Fabric workloads
Your I-983 must tie your training goals directly to your STEM degree, so map each Fabric component you'll work with, such as Data Warehouse or Real-Time Intelligence, to a specific learning objective from your degree program before your DSO signs off.
Understand cap-gap coverage if your OPT expires mid-hire
If you're in an active H-1B selection year, USCIS cap-gap rules extend your work authorization automatically while a timely-filed petition is pending. Confirm your OPT end date and your employer's intended petition filing date before you give notice at any current role.

Find Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does my degree qualify me for the STEM OPT extension as a Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer?
Your degree qualifies if it appears on the STEM Designated Degree Program List and your program's CIP code matches what USCIS recognizes. Degrees in computer science, data science, electrical engineering, and information systems are common matches for this role. Your DSO verifies the CIP code against your official transcript before authorizing the extension, so confirm the exact code with your international student office early.
What E-Verify obligation does my employer have for my STEM OPT?
Any employer hiring you on a STEM OPT extension must be enrolled in E-Verify for the specific worksite where you'll be working, not just at the corporate level. This is a federal requirement under SEVP regulations. Before you accept an offer, ask HR to confirm active E-Verify enrollment and provide the Company ID. A lapse in enrollment can invalidate your work authorization.
What goes into the I-983 training plan for a Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer role?
Your I-983 training plan must outline the specific skills and knowledge you'll develop, how they connect to your STEM degree, and how your employer will supervise and evaluate your progress. For this role, that typically means documenting work with Microsoft Fabric components such as Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, or Real-Time Intelligence, and mapping each to a concrete learning objective from your degree curriculum. Both you and your employer sign the form, and your DSO must authorize it before your EAD is updated.
How does cap-gap work if my OPT ends before my H-1B start date?
Cap-gap protection automatically extends your OPT work authorization if your employer files an H-1B petition before your EAD expires and you were selected in the lottery. USCIS extends your status and employment authorization through September 30 of that fiscal year, or until your petition is denied or withdrawn. You don't file anything separately; the protection is triggered by the timely-filed petition. Confirm the filing date with your employer's immigration counsel.
How do I find Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer jobs where employers are set up for STEM OPT?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer roles by employers with active E-Verify enrollment and Labor Condition Application filing history. This lets you focus your applications on companies already familiar with STEM OPT requirements rather than spending time educating employers who have never hired international students on OPT before.
