Strategy Consultant Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a strategy consultant job in Boston?
Target Boston's three dominant hiring corridors: the major consulting firms headquartered or with large offices in the Financial District and Back Bay, the strategy and corporate development functions inside life sciences and biotech companies concentrated in Kendall Square and the Longwood Medical Area, and the financial services and insurance sector firms clustered downtown. A candidate with an MBA from a Boston-area school, or demonstrable experience in healthcare or life sciences strategy, stands out in this market.
Which companies hire strategy consultants in Boston?
Companies currently hiring strategy consultants in Boston include Deloitte, PwC, and ZS Associates, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's market skews heavily toward large consulting firms, major healthcare systems, and life sciences companies with internal strategy teams, alongside a growing number of fintech and enterprise software companies adding in-house strategy roles.
Are there remote strategy consultant jobs in Boston?
Yes, though strategy consulting skews toward in-person work given the client-facing and collaborative nature of most engagements. About 51% of strategy consultant openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote options most common in internal corporate strategy roles at technology and financial services firms rather than client-service consulting positions.
How can I get a strategy consultant job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is targeting analyst or associate roles at mid-size consulting boutiques in the Back Bay and Financial District, which recruit heavily from Boston-area MBA programs and occasionally from undergraduate programs at Boston University, Northeastern, and Harvard. Life sciences companies in Kendall Square also hire junior strategy analysts. Internship-to-hire pipelines and rotational programs at large healthcare systems like Mass General Brigham are a concrete local door-opener.
