Strategy Jobs in Reston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a strategy job in Reston?
Focus on Reston's dominant employer types: defense contractors, federal IT consultancies, and corporate headquarters clustered in Town Center and along the Dulles Corridor. Candidates with experience in strategic planning for government clients, digital transformation, or enterprise technology have the strongest footing here. Familiarity with government procurement cycles and a network built through Reston's active professional community give applicants a concrete edge over generalist candidates.
Which companies hire strategys in Reston?
Employers hiring strategys in Reston right now include ICF, SAIC, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Reston's employer mix leans heavily toward defense primes, federal consulting firms, and technology companies with significant government-facing practices, meaning many strategy roles involve some intersection with public sector clients or contracts.
Are there remote strategy jobs in Reston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of strategy work: corporate and business unit strategy roles tend to offer more flexibility, while government-adjacent and defense strategy positions often require on-site presence or clearance compliance. About 75% of strategy openings tied to Reston are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among commercial technology and professional services employers in Town Center.
How can I get a strategy job in Reston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Reston is through analyst or associate roles at the consulting firms and defense contractors that anchor the local market. Many firms in Town Center and along the Dulles Corridor hire junior strategy analysts directly from graduate programs or from adjacent roles in operations, finance, or program management. Building familiarity with government contracting basics and earning a strategy-relevant credential strengthens a Reston application meaningfully.
