Job Overview
Northlight Custom Builders LLC. is seeking a talented and motivated Interior Designer and Drafter for residential remodel and addition projects. We design and build kitchens, baths, whole home remodels, square foot additions and outdoor living spaces in Snohomish County and north King County. We have awesome clients, with many repeats and referrals. We have an amazing team with tons of experience including sales, design, project management, craftspeople and trade partners.
The ideal candidate will excel at providing our clients an exceptional design experience from concept through construction. They will be artistic, creative, detail oriented, and have strong interpersonal skills. Enjoy the opportunities to solve problems and trouble shoot complex issues in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include:
- Meet with clients on and off site to gather the design objectives
- Meet with internal and external teams to keep projects on track
- Obtain accurate measurements of residential spaces
- Draft the design including, floorplans, elevations, specifications, selections, and 3D renderings via Chief Architect Software
- Collaborate with the sales team and project managers to develop a deliverable design package
- Work to maintain project timelines and within budgets
- Maintain good file management practices
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years minimum experience in residential design
- Experience with Chief Architect software or other CAD programs
- Working knowledge of residential building codes (IRC)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Provide a portfolio with references and examples of prior residential design work
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to work in office full time in Mukilteo
Preferred:
- Hold a degree or certification in a design related field or demonstrate equivalent experience
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with marketing content creation
- Experience with drafting construction documents
- Experience applying for permits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
