Student Engagement Coordinator Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a student engagement coordinator in Kansas?
Most Kansas employers require a bachelor's degree in education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field, and the role carries no state-issued license. Candidates who complete a master's degree in higher education administration or student development through programs at the University of Kansas or Kansas State University hold a strong advantage for coordinator-level roles. Entry is also common for candidates with prior experience in advising, residence life, or academic support at a Kansas institution.
Which companies hire student engagement coordinators in Kansas?
Companies currently hiring student engagement coordinators in Kansas include University of Kansas, Salina Regional Health Center, and Kansas City Kansas Community College, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's large public university systems and community college networks, including those in the Regents system, generate the most consistent year-round openings for this role.
Which Kansas cities have the most student engagement coordinator jobs?
Lawrence, Kansas City, and Salina account for the greatest concentration of student engagement coordinator openings in Kansas. Wichita and Lawrence lead because of their large four-year university campuses and adjacent nonprofit sectors, while Topeka's state agency offices and Washburn University contribute a steady share of district-level and program coordinator postings.
Are there remote student engagement coordinator jobs in Kansas?
Yes, but they're rare. Student engagement coordination is fundamentally an in-person role built around direct contact with students, campus events, and institutional teams. About 0% of student engagement coordinator openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to involve administrative coordination, grant writing, or virtual program delivery rather than direct student-facing work.
How can I get hired as a student engagement coordinator in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through graduate assistantship or paraprofessional roles in student affairs at a Kansas university. Institutions like the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, and Wichita State University regularly hire graduate assistants and program assistants in residence life, multicultural affairs, and orientation offices. Candidates transitioning from teaching, advising, or AmeriCorps service in Kansas bring directly transferable skills, and completing a student affairs or higher education graduate program strengthens any application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to student engagement coordinator jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to student engagement coordinator jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings across universities, community colleges, and district employers. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
