Superintendent Jobs in Memphis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a superintendent job in Memphis?
The strongest opportunities for superintendents in Memphis are in commercial and residential construction along the riverfront and East Memphis corridors, in Memphis City Schools and charter networks, and in healthcare facilities across the Medical District. Candidates with direct site oversight experience and familiarity with Memphis subcontractor networks stand out. Targeting general contractors and larger institutional employers in those sectors gives you the best entry point.
Which companies hire superintendents in Memphis?
Employers hiring superintendents in Memphis right now include Xai, Ledcor, and Kruger Products, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Memphis draws a mix of regional construction firms, large school districts, healthcare systems, and industrial operators, all of which regularly hire for superintendent-level oversight roles.
Are there remote superintendent jobs in Memphis?
Yes, though remote work is limited for this role since most superintendent positions require on-site oversight of projects, staff, or facilities. About 7% of superintendent openings tied to Memphis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with those opportunities concentrated in administrative, compliance, or program superintendent roles rather than field-based construction or facilities positions.
How can I get a superintendent job in Memphis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Memphis is through an assistant superintendent or project coordinator role with a regional construction firm or a large institutional employer such as a Memphis-area hospital system or school district. Many local general contractors promote from within, so starting as a field engineer or site coordinator builds the on-site credibility employers here look for before stepping into a superintendent title.
Which industries hire the most superintendents in Memphis?
Most superintendent openings in Memphis sit in Technology & Software, Construction & Real Estate, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Memphis's ongoing development along the riverfront, sustained investment in healthcare infrastructure in the Medical District, and the size of its public school system make those sectors the consistent drivers of local superintendent hiring.
