Business Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business manager in Tennessee?
Most Tennessee employers require at least a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field, followed by progressive experience in operations or team leadership. Tennessee does not issue a state license specifically for business managers, so entry typically means building credentials through industry-recognized certifications like the Project Management Professional or Certified Manager designation, then advancing through coordinator or supervisor roles at Tennessee companies before moving into a management position.
Which companies hire business managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring business managers in Tennessee right now include American Heart Association, Oracle, and Verizon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's mix of large healthcare systems, regional logistics hubs, and long-established manufacturing and financial services firms means business manager openings appear consistently throughout the year across multiple industries.
Which Tennessee cities have the most business manager jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville post the most business manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of listings, anchored by its healthcare, finance, and technology sectors, while Memphis generates strong volume through its logistics and distribution industry, and Chattanooga contributes manufacturing and operations management roles tied to its growing industrial base.
Are there remote business manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, though they represent a smaller share of openings since business management often involves direct oversight of teams, facilities, and day-to-day operations. About 45% of business manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The functions most likely to appear in remote or hybrid arrangements are financial reporting, vendor relations, and project coordination rather than roles requiring hands-on site management.
How can I get hired as a business manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in an operations coordinator, team lead, or administrative supervisor role at a large Tennessee employer such as a regional healthcare system, a logistics company in the Memphis corridor, or a manufacturing facility in Middle Tennessee. From there, candidates build toward management by taking on budget or scheduling responsibilities. Completing a recognized certification like the Certified Manager credential or a Project Management Professional designation strengthens an application considerably when formal management experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to business manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to business manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and industry background, then apply directly to the positions that fit.
