Supply Chain Specialist Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain specialist in Tennessee?
Most Tennessee employers expect a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or industrial engineering as a starting point. Tennessee does not require a state-issued license to work as a supply chain specialist, but earning an APICS certification such as the CPIM or CSCP strengthens your candidacy significantly. Many Tennessee employers, particularly in manufacturing and automotive, prioritize candidates who combine formal education with hands-on experience in inventory, procurement, or operations roles.
How much do supply chain specialists make in Tennessee?
Supply chain specialists in Tennessee earn a median of about $71,280 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $42,730 for the lowest 10% to over $127,700 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supply chain specialists in Tennessee?
Employers hiring supply chain specialists in Tennessee right now include Amazon, CEVA Logistics, and Capgemini, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's automotive, logistics, and distribution industries generate consistent demand, with major anchors like Bridgestone Americas, FedEx, and Nissan North America regularly posting openings.
Which Tennessee cities have the most supply chain specialist jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Franklin have the most supply chain specialist openings in Tennessee. Nashville's broad corporate and distribution base drives the largest share, Memphis anchors logistics and freight-forwarding demand as one of the busiest cargo hubs in North America, and Chattanooga benefits from its automotive manufacturing cluster, including Volkswagen and a dense network of supplier facilities.
Are there remote supply chain specialist jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since much supply chain work involves on-site coordination with warehouses, manufacturing floors, or distribution centers. About 44% of supply chain specialist openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the highest remote availability in demand planning, procurement analytics, and vendor management roles that rely primarily on systems work rather than physical oversight.
How can I get hired as a supply chain specialist in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to supply chain coordinator or logistics analyst roles at Tennessee's large distribution and manufacturing employers, which regularly bring on candidates without deep experience. Companies like FedEx in Memphis and automotive suppliers in the Chattanooga and Nashville corridors run structured operations associate programs for new graduates. Building proficiency in an ERP platform, earning an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional foundation certificate, or moving laterally from a warehouse operations or purchasing assistant role can open the door quickly.
Where can I find and apply to supply chain specialist jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to supply chain specialist jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly.
