Operations Manager Jobs in Tennessee

One of our clients is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Operations Manager to lead there day-to-day delivery operation. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing drivers and support staff, maintaining high safety and performance standards, and ensuring our team consistently delivers an exceptional customer experience.

Position Summary

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of our Amazon delivery business, including driver management, dispatch operations, route execution, fleet readiness, safety, performance, and staffing.

The ideal candidate is an organized and accountable leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can make quick decisions under pressure, and knows how to motivate a team while holding people to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of delivery drivers, dispatchers, and support personnel.
• Oversee daily delivery operations from pre-dispatch preparation through completion of routes.
• Monitor key operational metrics and take immediate action when performance falls below expectations.
• Ensure drivers meet company and Amazon standards for safety, quality, attendance, customer service, and delivery performance.
• Manage daily staffing, scheduling, attendance, call-outs, and route coverage.
• Coordinate dispatch and respond quickly to operational issues throughout the delivery day.
• Conduct driver coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action when necessary.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new employees.
• Maintain a strong culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, and ready for daily operation.
• Monitor vehicle and driver compliance, documentation, and required inspections.
• Work closely with the ownership and station leadership to resolve operational issues.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement processes that improve productivity, reliability, and employee retention.
• Manage incidents, customer escalations, vehicle issues, and other last-mile operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate operational records and communicate performance updates to company leadership.
• Lead by example and be willing to step into the operation wherever needed.

Required

• Experience in operations, logistics, transportation, retail management, or a similar leadership role.
• Previous experience managing and developing employees.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills.
• Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by the operation.

Preferred

• Experience with last-mile delivery, logistics, transportation, or fleet operations.
• Experience managing large teams.
• Experience with performance metrics and productivity improvement.
• Experience with driver coaching, DOT/compliance processes, or fleet management.
• Previous experience as a dispatcher, fleet manager, assistant manager, or operations manager.

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
