Supply Chain Consultant Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain consultant in California?
Most supply chain consultant roles in California require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, industrial engineering, or operations. California does not issue a state-specific license for this role, but employers consistently favor candidates who hold the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional credential or the CPIM designation. Large California employers in technology, aerospace, and retail typically require several years of hands-on operations or consulting experience before bringing on consultants independently.
How much do supply chain consultants make in California?
Supply chain consultants in California earn a median of about $101,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,360 for the lowest 10% to over $174,970 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supply chain consultants in California?
Employers hiring supply chain consultants in California right now include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), DGN Technologies, and Alvarez & Marsal, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of technology companies, defense contractors, and global retail headquarters means demand is spread across industries rather than tied to a single sector.
Which California cities have the most supply chain consultant jobs?
Sunnyvale, Los Angeles, and San Diego have the most supply chain consultant openings in California. Los Angeles draws demand from its port-adjacent logistics networks and entertainment supply chains, San Francisco and San Jose reflect the procurement and operations needs of the technology sector, and San Diego's aerospace and biotech clusters generate consistent consulting work tied to regulated manufacturing supply chains.
Are there remote supply chain consultant jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 19% of supply chain consultant openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the analytical and advisory nature of much of this work. Strategy, procurement analysis, and demand planning engagements are the most likely to be fully remote, while roles involving warehouse operations or supplier audits typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a supply chain consultant in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a supply chain analyst or operations coordinator role at a California manufacturer, technology company, or third-party logistics firm. Large California employers such as Apple, Kaiser Permanente, and Amazon run rotational operations programs that develop junior candidates into consulting-track roles. An APICS CPIM or Certified Supply Chain Professional credential gives candidates without direct consulting experience a concrete edge when competing against more experienced applicants.
Where can I find and apply to supply chain consultant jobs in California?
You can find and apply to supply chain consultant jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
