Supply Chain Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a supply chain manager job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's dominant sectors: oil and gas, petrochemicals, healthcare systems, and port-driven logistics and distribution. Roles concentrate in the Energy Corridor, Greenway Plaza, and near the Port of Houston and the ship channel industrial corridor. Candidates with experience in oil field equipment, medical device logistics, or large-scale distribution operations stand out in this market. Building familiarity with SAP or Oracle supply chain modules gives you a practical edge with Houston's larger employers.
Which companies hire supply chain managers in Houston?
Employers hiring supply chain managers in Houston right now include Amazon, PwC, and Fluor, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's hiring base is especially deep in energy majors and mid-size oilfield services firms, large hospital and health system networks, and regional distribution and third-party logistics companies tied to the port.
Are there remote supply chain manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though supply chain manager roles are more hands-on than fully remote by nature, with many positions requiring on-site presence for warehouse, plant, or vendor coordination. About 11% of supply chain manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the strongest remote options in procurement strategy, demand planning, and supplier analytics roles. Physical operations and port logistics positions almost always require on-site work.
How can I get a supply chain manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is moving up from a coordinator, logistics analyst, or buyer role within the energy, healthcare, or distribution sectors that dominate local hiring. Houston-area health systems like Houston Methodist and Memorial Hermann, as well as large oilfield services and chemical companies along the ship channel, regularly hire operations coordinators and supply chain analysts as feeder roles. A APICS CSCP or CPIM certification accelerates the transition and signals seriousness to Houston employers who see high applicant volume.
Which industries hire the most supply chain managers in Houston?
Houston supply chain manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Energy, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's position as the country's energy capital, combined with its status as a major port city and one of the largest medical center complexes in the world, drives consistent and deep supply chain hiring across all three of those sectors.
