Position Summary:
As the Medical Assistant Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily clinic operations and ensuring top-notch patient care. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of medical assistants, coordinating workflows, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. You will mentor and train staff, implement best practices, and address any issues that arise to enhance team performance. Key duties involve monitoring patient flow, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Your leadership will drive the team to deliver exceptional service and support to both patients and healthcare providers, contributing to the overall success of the clinic.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certified as an CMA, RMA, CCMA required. Non-certified MAs must obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
Licensure:
- Association accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in medical software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the medical assistant team.
- Train and mentor staff to ensure consistent delivery of quality patient care.
- Coordinate and oversee clinic schedules to optimize patient flow.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates and address concerns as directed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Support healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Assist with and resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally.
- Facilitate communication between medical staff and administrative personnel.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and coaching.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of new medical assistants.
- Ensure accurate documentation in EHR systems.
- Assist with development of strategies to improve clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in medical assisting.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs additional duties as assigned. Adheres to facility Values, Service Excellence and Standards of Excellence.
