Telemarketer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a telemarketer in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license specifically for telemarketers, but companies selling insurance products by phone must hold a Texas Department of Insurance license, which requires completing a pre-licensing course and passing the state exam. For general telemarketing roles, most Texas employers hire candidates with a high school diploma and strong communication skills, often providing product and compliance training on the job before your first calls.
How much do telemarketers make in Texas?
Telemarketers in Texas earn a median of about $34,290 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $23,420 for the lowest 10% to over $51,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire telemarketers in Texas?
Employers hiring telemarketers in Texas right now include State Farm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large insurance, telecommunications, and home services industries make it one of the more active states for steady telemarketing hiring throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most telemarketer jobs?
Gunter, Celina, and Dallas have the most telemarketer openings in Texas. Houston and Dallas lead because of their dense concentrations of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and corporate headquarters running inside sales teams, while San Antonio benefits from USAA's major operations base and a growing number of contact center employers drawn by the city's large bilingual workforce.
Are there remote telemarketer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since telemarketing is phone-based work that requires only a computer and a reliable internet connection. About 14% of telemarketer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how naturally the role translates to a home office setup. Outbound sales and customer retention roles tend to have the highest share of fully remote positions.
How can I get hired as a telemarketer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to contact center and inside sales associate roles at large Texas employers like AT&T, Globe Life, or major insurance carriers, which routinely hire candidates with no prior telemarketing experience and run structured paid training programs covering scripts, compliance, and CRM tools. Customer service, retail, and front desk roles are strong lateral moves that Texas hiring managers consistently accept as equivalent experience, and obtaining a Texas Department of Insurance license gives candidates applying to insurance sales roles a clear edge over other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to telemarketer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to telemarketer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
