Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Certified Nurse Aide
Verify your nurse aide credentials first
State CNA certification is required before any employer can support your TN visa filing. Confirm your home-country training meets the destination state's certification reciprocity rules, since requirements vary and gaps can stall an offer.
Target long-term care and hospital networks
Skilled nursing facilities, hospital systems, and home health agencies sponsor TN visas most consistently for CNA roles. Filter your search to multi-location operators, since they typically have HR teams familiar with USMCA professional filings.
Search TN-sponsored CNA jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters roles by visa sponsorship type, so you can find CNA positions where employers are already prepared to support TN filings rather than cold-pitching sponsorship to unfamiliar hiring managers.
Confirm the employer's E-Verify enrollment
TN visa holders are work-authorized, but some healthcare employers require E-Verify confirmation before onboarding. Ask HR about their enrollment status before accepting an offer to avoid delays on your start date.
Get the support letter drafted before your border appointment
Canadian applicants present their TN documentation directly at a port of entry. Your employer's support letter must specify your CNA job duties, your qualifying credential, and the USMCA Nurse category to avoid a same-day referral or denial.
Understand Mexican applicants face a separate consular step
Mexican nationals cannot use port-of-entry TN processing and must apply at a U.S. consulate. Schedule your visa interview only after your employer has issued a formal offer letter, since consular officers will ask for documentation of the specific role.

Find Certified Nurse Aide JobsCertified Nurse Aide TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Certified Nurse Aide role actually qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, CNA roles qualify under the USMCA Nurse category, which covers a broad range of nursing and patient care occupations. The key requirement is that you hold a valid CNA certification recognized by the state where you'll be working. Some officers may scrutinize whether the role constitutes professional nursing practice, so having your job description align closely with direct patient care duties strengthens the filing.
How does TN visa sponsorship for CNA roles compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian applicants, meaning you can start work as soon as CBP approves your application at the port of entry. H-1B requires entering a lottery that accepts roughly one in four registrations and has a minimum six-month wait before work authorization begins. For CNA roles, TN is almost always the faster and more predictable path for Canadian and Mexican professionals.
What documents does a Canadian CNA need at the border for TN processing?
You need your Canadian passport, a formal employer support letter specifying the Nurse category and your CNA duties, proof of your state CNA certification or credential evaluation, and evidence of your professional training. CBP officers adjudicate TN applications on the spot, so completeness matters. A missing credential document is one of the most common reasons for a referral or denial at the port of entry.
Where can I find CNA jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search CNA roles specifically filtered by TN visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing employers who have already committed to supporting USMCA filings. This matters because CNA sponsorship is uneven across the market, with large healthcare networks and agency employers being far more prepared than small independent facilities that may not know the TN process.
Can a Mexican CNA applicant use port-of-entry processing like Canadians?
No. Mexican nationals must apply for TN status at a U.S. consulate abroad rather than at a port of entry. This means scheduling a consular interview, paying the visa application fee, and waiting for consular adjudication before traveling to start work. Processing timelines vary by consulate location and appointment availability, so Mexican applicants should factor in several additional weeks compared to the same-day processing available to Canadians.
