Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Lead
Verify your credentials match TN requirements
TN classification for Clinical Lead roles hinges on your degree field matching the job's clinical duties. A nursing degree supports direct patient-care leadership roles; a healthcare administration degree may not qualify if the posting emphasizes bedside supervision over management.
Target employers with recent visa filing experience
Search Migrate Mate to find hospitals, health systems, and outpatient networks experienced with visa sponsorship for clinical nursing titles. Employers with recent visa filings have legal teams familiar with work visa processes, making them more likely to prepare the required support letter and guide you through your port of entry or consulate presentation.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-sponsoring employers
Filter your Clinical Lead job search through Migrate Mate to surface employers already open to TN visa sponsorship. This cuts the time spent cold-approaching hiring managers who haven't yet considered international candidates for leadership roles.
Clarify supervisory scope before the offer stage
TN officers scrutinize Clinical Lead job descriptions closely. Ask the employer to confirm in writing that the role requires a degree in nursing or a clinical specialty, not general management. A vague offer letter is one of the most common reasons CBP requests additional documentation.
Prepare a Canadian port-of-entry TN package correctly
Canadian citizens apply directly at the border and need a support letter, a signed job offer, proof of citizenship, and educational credentials. Bring certified transcripts and your professional nursing license; CBP officers may ask for both even when the job posting doesn't list licensure as a requirement.
Understand Mexican TN consulate appointment timelines
Mexican citizens cannot apply at the port of entry and must schedule a consulate interview, which can add four to eight weeks to your start date. Factor this into your offer negotiation so your employer sets a realistic onboarding date aligned with your visa appointment window.

Find Clinical Lead JobsClinical Lead TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Clinical Lead role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the position requires a qualifying degree in nursing, physical therapy, or a related clinical specialty and the duties center on clinical supervision rather than administrative management. CBP evaluates the job offer letter and your credentials together, so the degree field and job title must align clearly. Roles framed primarily as operational management without direct clinical oversight are harder to approve under TN.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Clinical Lead roles compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and Canadian applicants can receive approval at the border the same day they apply. H-1B requires a lottery entry in March, approval months later, and significant employer filing costs. For Clinical Lead roles where the degree-to-job alignment is straightforward, TN is a faster and more predictable path than H-1B for eligible USMCA nationals.
What documents does a Clinical Lead applicant need for TN approval?
You need a detailed employer support letter describing your clinical duties, your degree certificate or official transcripts, your nursing or clinical license if the role requires one, and proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship. The support letter carries the most weight: it must specify that a degree in a clinical field is a condition of employment and describe how your qualifications meet that requirement.
Where can I find Clinical Lead jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which means you'll spend significant time screening out employers who won't support TN status. Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Clinical Lead roles with TN visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing opportunities from employers already open to USMCA work authorization for this role category.
Can a Clinical Lead on TN status change employers without losing status?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. You can't simply transfer it the way some visas allow a grace period for job changes. Your new employer must independently support a TN classification for the Clinical Lead role before or at your start date. Canadian citizens can handle this at a port of entry; Mexican citizens need a new consulate appointment, which requires advance planning around your transition timeline.
