- Helps identify portfolio gaps, platform opportunities, and areas for future category growth across key customer segments and use cases.
- Solves difficult and complex problems with a fresh perspective, demonstrating sound judgment, creative thinking, and the ability to manage projects independently.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Recommended
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically 4–7 years of work experience, preferably in product management, product marketing, product design, consumer electronics, gaming peripherals, or a related field, or an advanced degree with 3–5 years of work experience.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Corporate Development Manager
Frame your credentials around Management Consultant
TN visas don't have a dedicated Corporate Development category. Your degree, resume, and support letter must position your M&A, strategic planning, and integration work as management consulting activity to satisfy CBP's occupational definition.
Target companies with active M&A pipelines
PE-backed firms, publicly traded acquirers, and growth-stage companies running frequent deals are structurally dependent on corporate development headcount and more likely to understand TN sponsorship logistics without lengthy internal approvals.
Verify the employer letter covers TN-specific language
The offer letter must state your title, duties, Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and that the role meets specialty occupation criteria. Missing any of these details causes CBP or consulate officers to request additional documentation on the spot.
Search TN-eligible Corporate Development roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by TN visa eligibility, so you can identify Corporate Development Manager openings where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than cold-applying and negotiating visa support after the fact.
Prepare transcripts showing a business or finance degree
CBP expects a direct connection between your academic credentials and the consulting or analytical duties in the role. A degree in economics, finance, or business administration strengthens your case; unrelated degrees require a detailed equivalency explanation.
Clarify your classification before signing any offer
Ask HR whether they plan to file under Management Consultant or another USMCA category. Misclassification causes CBP rejections at the border, and correcting it after an offer is accepted delays your start date by weeks.
Corporate Development Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Corporate Development Manager title qualify directly for a TN visa?
There's no standalone Corporate Development Manager category in the TN occupational list. CBP officers evaluate the role's actual duties, not just the title. If your work involves strategic analysis, M&A advisory, or organizational planning, it can qualify under the Management Consultant category, but your employer's support letter must clearly describe those duties in consulting terms.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Corporate Development Manager roles?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be obtained at a port of entry the same day for Canadians. H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate, filing months in advance, and waiting until October 1 to start work. For Canadian nationals especially, TN is a faster and more predictable path into corporate development roles.
Can Mexican nationals get TN sponsorship for Corporate Development Manager jobs?
Yes, but the process differs from Canada. Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at the border, and TN visas for Mexican nationals are subject to an annual allocation of 5,500. Consulate appointment wait times vary by location and season, so building in extra lead time before a target start date is essential.
How do I find employers who will sponsor a TN visa for this role?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN-eligible job seekers. You can search Corporate Development Manager openings filtered by TN visa sponsorship, so you're only reviewing employers who have already confirmed they can support the visa category, rather than raising the sponsorship question cold after multiple interview rounds.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for a TN corporate development application?
Your employer needs to produce a support letter on company letterhead that identifies your job title, describes your specific duties in management consulting terms, confirms your citizenship, states the temporary nature of the assignment, and lists your professional qualifications. CBP may also request your degree transcripts, professional certifications, or a copy of the job offer itself at the port of entry.
