TN Visa Nurse Anesthetist Jobs
Nurse Anesthetist is one of the designated professions under USMCA, making it eligible for TN visa sponsorship without a lottery or annual cap for Canadian citizens. Mexican citizens face a 5,500-visa annual limit. Employers file the TN petition directly, and Canadians can receive approval at a port of entry the same day.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Nurse Anesthetist
Verify your CRNA credentials meet TN requirements
TN classification for Nurse Anesthetist requires a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree minimum. Confirm your Canadian or Mexican nursing and anesthesia credentials are recognized by the state board where you'll practice before approaching employers.
Target hospital systems experienced with visa sponsorship
Large academic medical centers and multi-state health systems frequently sponsor work visas and already have immigration counsel on retainer. These employers move faster and make fewer errors on the TN support letter than first-time sponsors.
Search TN-sponsored CRNA roles through Migrate Mate
Most job boards don't filter by visa type or TN eligibility. Migrate Mate surfaces Nurse Anesthetist roles from employers actively open to TN sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying and explaining the visa from scratch.
Request a role-specific TN support letter from HR
The employer's TN support letter must state your specific job duties, your CRNA credentials, and confirm the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Generic offer letters have caused CBP denials at the Canadian border for this role.
Plan your Mexican TN application through a U.S. consulate
Mexican citizens can't use the Canadian port-of-entry method. You'll file a nonimmigrant visa application at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, so build in consular appointment wait times when negotiating your start date with the employer.
Align your state nursing license with your TN start date
CBP can deny your TN if you arrive without an active state license for the practice state. Apply for your NCLEX endorsement or state licensure transfer well before your planned border crossing or consular appointment.

Find Nurse Anesthetist JobsNurse Anesthetist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Nurse Anesthetist role qualify for a TN visa?
Yes. Nurse Anesthetist appears on the USMCA TN profession list under the nursing category, provided you hold a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent and a valid license to practice in the destination state. Canadian citizens can seek admission at a port of entry. Mexican citizens apply through a U.S. consulate. Both require a qualifying job offer from a U.S. employer before filing.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Nurse Anesthetists?
TN has no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and no lengthy petition process through USCIS for border applicants. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a random lottery with a March registration window and a months-long approval timeline. For Nurse Anesthetists with Canadian or Mexican citizenship, TN is a direct, faster path. The main trade-off is that TN does not confer dual intent, so it's not designed for applicants actively pursuing a green card.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter on company letterhead that specifies your job title as Nurse Anesthetist, a description of your daily duties, the employer's business activity, your start date, and confirmation that the role requires your CRNA credentials. This letter is the core of your TN package. For Mexican citizens, the employer may also need to assist with USCIS Form I-129 if filing as a nonimmigrant petition through a consulate.
Where can I find Nurse Anesthetist jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't distinguish between employers open to TN sponsorship and those that aren't, which means a lot of wasted applications. Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface roles from employers willing to sponsor TN visas, so you can filter for Nurse Anesthetist positions without having to explain TN eligibility to every recruiter you contact.
Can I switch CRNA employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you must have a new TN approval before starting work with the new employer. Canadian citizens can present a new TN support letter at a port of entry to obtain a fresh TN status for the new role. Mexican citizens need to apply for a new TN visa at a U.S. consulate. You cannot simply transfer your existing TN to a new employer the way H-1B portability works under AC21.
