Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Product Design Manager
Align your credentials to qualifying TN categories
Product Design Manager roles must map to a recognized TN occupation. Review how your degree field, whether industrial design, mechanical engineering, or HCI, matches the job description before applying. A mismatch at the border or consulate stalls everything.
Target employers with active design engineering pipelines
Search for companies with recent visa filings for design and engineering roles. Employers experienced with work visa sponsorship understand the sponsorship process and won't need educating when you raise the TN option.
Use Migrate Mate to filter TN-sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate aggregates jobs from employers with recent visa filings by role and industry. Search for Product Design Manager positions directly and surface employers experienced with visa sponsorship, cutting out the guesswork of cold outreach.
Resolve your degree equivalency before the offer stage
Mexican professionals with degrees from non-U.S. institutions should confirm degree equivalency through a recognized credential evaluation service before negotiating an offer. Delays at this step can push back your start date by weeks.
Negotiate who prepares the support letter
Your employer's TN support letter must specify your role, duties, TN category, and degree requirement. Ask HR or legal to draft it before you travel to the port of entry as a Canadian, since CBP officers assess it in real time.
Confirm your role qualifies before accepting the title
Product Design Manager is not a listed TN occupation by name. Confirm with the hiring team that your actual duties, whether engineering-led design, systems specification, or technical prototyping, support a valid TN category, not just the job title.

Find Product Design Manager JobsProduct Design Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Product Design Manager role qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is defined. TN visas require a match to a listed USMCA occupation. Product Design Manager roles grounded in engineering, industrial design, or scientific technician work can qualify, but roles focused primarily on team leadership or brand design without a technical core are harder to support. The job duties, not just the title, determine eligibility.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
For Canadian citizens, TN is significantly faster than H-1B. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and you can receive approval at the port of entry on the day you travel. Mexican citizens process through a consulate, which takes longer, but still avoids the H-1B lottery. The tradeoff is that TN does not lead directly to permanent residence the way H-1B does, so long-term immigration planning differs.
Where can I find Product Design Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter for Product Design Manager roles by TN visa sponsorship history, which surfaces employers who have sponsored similar positions before. Generic job boards don't filter by visa type or sponsorship history, so you end up cold-calling HR teams about sponsorship rather than applying to roles already structured for it.
Can Mexican citizens get TN sponsorship for Product Design Manager roles?
Yes, but the process differs from Canadian citizens. Mexican professionals apply through a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at a port of entry. The USMCA allocates a limited annual number of TN visas for Mexican nationals, so consular appointment availability and processing timelines are factors to build into your timeline when negotiating a start date with an employer.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter that specifies your job title, a description of your duties, the TN category your role falls under, your required credentials, your anticipated length of employment, and confirmation of your professional status. For Canadian citizens presenting at a port of entry, CBP reviews this letter on the spot, so accuracy and specificity matter more than length.
