Become a part of our caring community
We are seeking a Senior User Interface Design Engineer to craft intuitive, high-trust digital experiences across our clinical tools and care-facing platforms. You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution within your product area — from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery — while bringing an AI-fluent mindset as design tooling evolves.
You'll join a lean, high-impact design team of two supporting design across all of CenterWell IT, reporting to the Director, Technology Solutions while aligning on design system and overall standards with the Lead UI Designer. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders to solve complex healthcare workflows that reduce cognitive load for care teams and provide clarity for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for assigned product verticals — from discovery through pixel-perfect delivery — including workflow design, information architecture, and interface design for data-dense, human-in-the-loop clinical workflows.
- Support and contribute to design systems, patterns, and scalable design standards.
- Present design recommendations and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and building alignment across teams.
- Build interactive, high-fidelity prototypes to demonstrate complex interactions and validate user flows. Contribute to evolving how AI-assisted tools are incorporated into the design process as internal tooling access expands.
- Plan and execute qualitative user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions with users and stakeholders to validate design decisions and iterate rapidly.
- Accessibility & Health Literacy: Champion WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and plain-language design principles, ensuring interfaces are inclusive across varying levels of digital and health literacy.
- Healthcare & Compliance Focus: Design with deep sensitivity to privacy, patient trust, and regulatory requirements.
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on product design experience (UI/UX) delivering digital products, web applications, or complex enterprise platforms from concept to launch, with a strong portfolio of complex interfaces demonstrating visual hierarchy and clean execution for data-dense applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert-level Figma skills (auto-layout, tokens, component variables, interactive prototyping).
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution — bringing informed perspective and problem-solving to your product area while operating within established design system and standards.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguous requirements, and maintain high design quality and output in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Outstanding communication skills: able to articulate design decisions, present to cross-functional stakeholders, and discuss technical constraints and tradeoffs directly with engineers.
- Demonstrated success using design to improve business and customer outcomes, such as patient satisfaction, engagement, retention, or operational efficiency.
- AI Fluency: Understanding of how AI-driven features behave in-product (latency handling, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop workflows) and genuine interest in AI-assisted design tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing within clinical, healthcare, or health-tech environments, or in other regulated/high-stakes domains.
- Experience designing interfaces for complex data pipelines, dynamic real-time data, or decision-support tools.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior UI Engineer
Align your portfolio with specialty occupation standards
TN visa approval for UI engineering hinges on demonstrating that the role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Curate your portfolio to show systems-level thinking, not just visual output. Officers evaluate the technical complexity of the work, not the aesthetics.
Request a Computer Systems Analyst job title
TN visa petitions for UI engineers succeed most reliably under the Computer Systems Analyst occupational category. Ask your prospective employer to frame the offer letter around systems analysis and technical architecture duties, since ambiguous titles like 'designer' can trigger a closer review at the border.
Use Migrate Mate to find roles at sponsorship-experienced employers
Targeting employers experienced with visa sponsorship shortens your search significantly. Migrate Mate surfaces Senior UI Engineer roles from companies with recent visa filings, so you spend less time cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with work authorization processes.
Prepare a credential evaluation before Canadian border crossing
If your computer science degree is from a Mexican university, carry a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator confirming U.S. equivalency. Canadian border officers expect this documentation for applicants whose degrees may not map directly to U.S. four-year bachelor's programs.
Verify the employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Some STEM-focused employers require E-Verify enrollment as a condition of employment for TN workers. Confirming enrollment early prevents delays after your start date and signals the employer has prior experience onboarding USMCA professionals, which often means a smoother filing process for you.
Negotiate a remote-friendly offer letter to broaden your employer pool
TN status ties you to a specific employer, not a specific work location. If your Senior UI Engineer role allows remote work, confirm that the offer letter names the employer's registered U.S. address as your primary worksite so CBP officers don't flag location ambiguity at entry.
Senior UI Engineer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior UI Engineer role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, Senior UI Engineer roles can qualify under the TN visa's Computer Systems Analyst category when the position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field. The offer letter must describe duties that involve systems analysis and technical architecture, not primarily graphic or product design work. Roles where the degree requirement is ambiguous or where design duties dominate can face additional scrutiny.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Senior UI Engineers?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start working as soon as CBP approves your entry. H-1B visa requires registration in a random lottery held once per year, and selection is not guaranteed. For Senior UI Engineers with a qualifying computer science degree and a U.S. job offer, TN is typically faster and more predictable. The trade-off is that TN does not lead directly to permanent residence, while H-1B is a dual-intent visa.
Where can I find Senior UI Engineer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking TN visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can search Senior UI Engineer roles filtered by employers with recent visa filings, which removes the guesswork of identifying companies already experienced with work visa sponsorship. Generic job boards don't filter by employer sponsorship experience, so you'd otherwise need to screen each employer manually.
Can Mexican citizens get TN sponsorship for Senior UI Engineer roles, and is the process different from Canada?
Yes, Mexican citizens are eligible for TN status, but the process differs from the Canadian pathway. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico for a TN visa stamp before traveling, rather than seeking approval at a port of entry. The documentary requirements are the same: a qualifying job offer, proof of citizenship, and credentials demonstrating a relevant bachelor's degree. Processing times depend on consulate appointment availability.
What happens to my TN status if I change employers mid-year as a Senior UI Engineer?
TN status is employer-specific, so changing jobs requires a new TN petition tied to your new employer before you begin work. Canadian citizens can apply for a new TN at a port of entry the same day they leave their current employer, which makes transitions faster than most other visa categories. Mexican citizens need to schedule a new consulate appointment. You can maintain status continuity as long as you don't start working for the new employer before the new TN is approved.
