Become a part of our caring community
We are seeking a Senior User Interface Design Engineer to craft intuitive, high-trust digital experiences across our clinical tools and care-facing platforms. You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution within your product area — from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery — while bringing an AI-fluent mindset as design tooling evolves.
You'll join a lean, high-impact design team of two supporting design across all of CenterWell IT, reporting to the Director, Technology Solutions while aligning on design system and overall standards with the Lead UI Designer. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders to solve complex healthcare workflows that reduce cognitive load for care teams and provide clarity for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for assigned product verticals — from discovery through pixel-perfect delivery — including workflow design, information architecture, and interface design for data-dense, human-in-the-loop clinical workflows.
- Support and contribute to design systems, patterns, and scalable design standards.
- Present design recommendations and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and building alignment across teams.
- Build interactive, high-fidelity prototypes to demonstrate complex interactions and validate user flows. Contribute to evolving how AI-assisted tools are incorporated into the design process as internal tooling access expands.
- Plan and execute qualitative user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions with users and stakeholders to validate design decisions and iterate rapidly.
- Accessibility & Health Literacy: Champion WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and plain-language design principles, ensuring interfaces are inclusive across varying levels of digital and health literacy.
- Healthcare & Compliance Focus: Design with deep sensitivity to privacy, patient trust, and regulatory requirements.
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on product design experience (UI/UX) delivering digital products, web applications, or complex enterprise platforms from concept to launch, with a strong portfolio of complex interfaces demonstrating visual hierarchy and clean execution for data-dense applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert-level Figma skills (auto-layout, tokens, component variables, interactive prototyping).
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution — bringing informed perspective and problem-solving to your product area while operating within established design system and standards.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguous requirements, and maintain high design quality and output in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Outstanding communication skills: able to articulate design decisions, present to cross-functional stakeholders, and discuss technical constraints and tradeoffs directly with engineers.
- Demonstrated success using design to improve business and customer outcomes, such as patient satisfaction, engagement, retention, or operational efficiency.
- AI Fluency: Understanding of how AI-driven features behave in-product (latency handling, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop workflows) and genuine interest in AI-assisted design tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing within clinical, healthcare, or health-tech environments, or in other regulated/high-stakes domains.
- Experience designing interfaces for complex data pipelines, dynamic real-time data, or decision-support tools.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an UI UX Developer
Frame your portfolio around systems analysis
TN visa approval for UI UX Developers hinges on the Computer Systems Analyst classification. Structure your portfolio to emphasize user research methodologies, information architecture, and system-level design decisions rather than visual aesthetics alone.
Target employers with dedicated immigration support
Look for companies with in-house legal or HR teams that have processed TN visas before. These employers understand that TN requires no USCIS petition for Canadians, which removes a common bottleneck in the offer-to-start timeline.
Get your offer letter language right
The offer letter must describe your role using Computer Systems Analyst terminology. Vague titles like 'designer' without systems language have triggered denials at the border. Ask your employer to specify user experience systems analysis as a core function.
Search verified TN-sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Identifying employers experienced with visa sponsorship for tech roles is the hardest part of the search. Use Migrate Mate to filter UI UX Developer jobs by recent visa filings, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with sponsoring international workers.
Mexican applicants should book consulate appointments early
Mexican citizens must obtain TN status through a U.S. consulate, and appointment availability at Ciudad Juárez, Guadalajara, and Monterrey varies significantly by season. Building an eight-to-twelve-week buffer into your start date negotiation avoids offer rescissions from scheduling delays.
Prepare a credential evaluation before your first interview
If your degree is from a Mexican or Canadian institution, have it evaluated by a NACES-member organization before the offer stage. CBP officers and consular staff use U.S. degree equivalency to confirm specialty occupation standing under the Computer Systems Analyst category.
UI UX Developer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a UI UX Developer role qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, but the classification matters. TN visas don't have a UI UX Developer category by name. The role must qualify under Computer Systems Analyst, which CBP and consular officers interpret to include user experience work that involves systems analysis, interaction modeling, and information architecture. Roles that look primarily like graphic design without a systems component are more likely to face scrutiny or denial.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for UI UX Developers?
TN is significantly more predictable for this role. H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection and then waiting up to a year before you can start work. TN has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadians. Mexicans face a numerical limit, but processing still happens through consular appointment rather than a lottery. For UI UX Developers with a qualifying offer letter, TN is almost always the faster path.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for TN sponsorship?
Your employer provides a support letter on company letterhead that describes your role in Computer Systems Analyst terms, confirms your job duties, states the duration of employment, and includes your compensation details. The letter doesn't get filed with USCIS in advance for Canadians. It accompanies you to the port of entry along with your degree credentials, passport, and the TN application fee receipt.
Where can I find UI UX Developer jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job searches don't filter by visa type, which means you spend significant time on companies that have never processed a TN. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this problem. You can search UI UX Developer roles filtered by TN sponsorship, so every result is from an employer who has already navigated the category classification and is prepared to support your application.
Can I switch UI UX Developer employers after getting TN status?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. Each time you change companies, you need a new TN approval tied to that employer's support letter. For Canadians, that means a new port-of-entry visit or, in some cases, a USCIS change of status petition if you're already inside the U.S. Plan the transition carefully to avoid gaps in your work authorization between roles.
