About Neuralink: We are creating devices that enable a bi-directional interface with the brain. These devices allow us to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize how humans interact with their digital world.
Team Description: The BCI Applications Team is responsible for building Telepathy.app—software which enables people with paralysis to use computing devices with precision and ease, via thought alone. Our team spans a wide range of disciplines, from neuroscience and machine learning to software engineering and interface design.
Job Description: We’re looking for an experienced UI Design Engineer to conceptualize, prototype, and ship novel computing interfaces tailored for BCI. Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Passion to explore an open-ended, multi-disciplinary, constrained space where design choices are informed by neural structure, model architecture, radio bandwidth, and more. For instance, a slight difference in an animated spring coefficient can change perceptual response time, shifting the alignment of labels and the performance of our decoders. You will actively collaborate with domain experts within and outside the team to understand these constraints and design your way around them.
- An intuitive sense for what level of fidelity to reach for when navigating this space, be it a conversation, a rough sketch, or a testable prototype.
- Excitement to work within and push the boundaries of an entirely new medium of interaction without the traditional sensory feedback of existing physical input devices (e.g., the kinetic friction of glass along the surface of a trackpad, or the resistive pressure of a spring during a keypress).
- The ability to empathize with and design for people with a sensory experience that differs from your own, and ambition to build something that feels magical, beyond the local minima of that which “works.” You’ll do whatever it might take to deliver that experience, be it a highly optimized vertex shader or a custom property animator, while maintaining an extremely high bar for fluidity and detail throughout.
- A strong point-of-view, without ego—you may occasionally pursue a hunch that not everyone on the team agrees with, but are relentless about testing, deleting, and learning from ideas that don’t work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, build, and ship novel computing interfaces for BCI.
- Work with study participants to iterate on and further refine these interfaces.
- Collaborate with domain experts in neuroscience, machine learning, and implant engineering to maximize the precision and fluidity of these interfaces within our constraint-space.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- A portfolio of demonstrated experience designing and shipping features end-to-end (i.e., initial conceptualization → n th prototype → initial release → n th iteration).
- Proficiency in Apple frameworks (i.e., SwiftUI, UIKit/AppKit, and/or Metal) or an equivalent and transferable stack (i.e., React, Three.js, WebGPU).
- Familiarity with Objective-C, C, and/or C++.
Expected Compensation: The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.
- Base Salary Range: $135,000 USD - $281,000 USD
What We Offer: Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits listed below.
- An opportunity to change the world and work with some of the smartest and most talented experts from different fields.
- Growth potential; we rapidly advance team members who have an outsized impact.
- Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance through a PPO plan.
- Paid holidays.
- Commuter benefits.
- Meals provided.
- Equity (RSUs) Temporary Employees & Interns excluded.
- 401(k) plan Interns initially excluded until they work 1,000 hours.
- Parental leave Temporary Employees & Interns excluded.
- Flexible time off Temporary Employees & Interns excluded.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Staff Product Designer
Align your portfolio to specialty occupation standards
TN visa approval hinges on demonstrating that Senior Staff Product Designer work requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just general design talent. Frame your portfolio around systems-level thinking, cross-functional leadership, and degree-dependent deliverables like design systems architecture or research methodologies.
Target employers with active design leadership pipelines
Focus your search on companies with recent visa filings for design or product roles. Employers experienced with work visa sponsorship—whether through H-1B visa, E-3 visa, or other programs—demonstrate familiarity with specialty occupation requirements and are more likely to move quickly through the TN sponsorship process without delays.
Get your degree equivalency documented before interviews
If your bachelor's is from a Canadian or Mexican institution, have a credential evaluation completed before your offer stage. CBP officers at the border can and do question foreign degree equivalency, and a certified evaluation removes that friction from your TN application.
Negotiate TN filing responsibilities into your offer letter
Unlike H-1B, TN doesn't require USCIS petition approval, so some employers mistakenly treat it as the employee's responsibility. Clarify in writing that the employer prepares the support letter and covers filing logistics before you sign anything.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers already sponsoring design roles
Searching broadly wastes time when you're targeting TN-eligible design leadership positions. Migrate Mate surfaces employers actively sponsoring TN and H-1B roles in product design, so you can prioritize outreach to companies already set up to support your application.
Request a Canadian border port entry appointment for faster admission
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry without pre-filing. Arriving with a complete package, including your employer support letter, job offer, and degree documentation, lets CBP adjudicate your TN the same day with no waiting period.
Senior Staff Product Designer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Staff Product Designer role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It can, but the classification requires careful framing. Senior Staff Product Designer roles most commonly qualify under the 'Computer Systems Analyst' TN category when the position involves systems-level UX architecture, design operations, or cross-functional product development requiring a specific bachelor's degree. Roles framed purely around visual craft without a degree requirement are harder to support under TN's specialty occupation standard.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Senior Staff Product Designer roles?
TN is significantly more accessible for this role. There's no lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no USCIS petition required, so Canadian citizens can get TN status at the border the same day they arrive with a complete package. H-1B requires lottery selection, a six-month wait, and substantial employer filing costs. The tradeoff is that TN requires maintaining a nonimmigrant intent posture, unlike H-1B's dual-intent status.
Where can I find Senior Staff Product Designer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters for employers actively sponsoring TN and H-1B visas in product design and UX leadership roles, so you're not guessing which companies will engage on sponsorship. Most general job boards don't surface visa sponsorship status at all, which means significant time lost vetting employers who won't support a TN application.
What documentation does my employer need to prepare for my TN application?
Your employer needs to provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that describes your role, your specific duties, the degree requirement, your qualifications, and your salary and employment terms. The letter must clearly establish that the position constitutes a specialty occupation under one of the USMCA-recognized TN categories. For Canadian applicants, CBP reviews this at the port of entry without any USCIS pre-filing.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN sponsorship for a Senior Staff Product Designer role?
Yes, but the process differs from the Canadian pathway. Mexican TN applicants must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate and are subject to the annual TN allocation for Mexican nationals. Processing timelines depend on consulate appointment availability. The substantive documentation requirements, specialty occupation framing, employer support letter, and degree evidence are identical to what Canadian applicants present at the border.
