Become a part of our caring community
We are seeking a Senior User Interface Design Engineer to craft intuitive, high-trust digital experiences across our clinical tools and care-facing platforms. You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution within your product area — from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery — while bringing an AI-fluent mindset as design tooling evolves.
You'll join a lean, high-impact design team of two supporting design across all of CenterWell IT, reporting to the Director, Technology Solutions while aligning on design system and overall standards with the Lead UI Designer. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders to solve complex healthcare workflows that reduce cognitive load for care teams and provide clarity for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for assigned product verticals — from discovery through pixel-perfect delivery — including workflow design, information architecture, and interface design for data-dense, human-in-the-loop clinical workflows.
- Support and contribute to design systems, patterns, and scalable design standards.
- Present design recommendations and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and building alignment across teams.
- Build interactive, high-fidelity prototypes to demonstrate complex interactions and validate user flows. Contribute to evolving how AI-assisted tools are incorporated into the design process as internal tooling access expands.
- Plan and execute qualitative user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions with users and stakeholders to validate design decisions and iterate rapidly.
- Accessibility & Health Literacy: Champion WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and plain-language design principles, ensuring interfaces are inclusive across varying levels of digital and health literacy.
- Healthcare & Compliance Focus: Design with deep sensitivity to privacy, patient trust, and regulatory requirements.
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on product design experience (UI/UX) delivering digital products, web applications, or complex enterprise platforms from concept to launch, with a strong portfolio of complex interfaces demonstrating visual hierarchy and clean execution for data-dense applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert-level Figma skills (auto-layout, tokens, component variables, interactive prototyping).
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution — bringing informed perspective and problem-solving to your product area while operating within established design system and standards.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguous requirements, and maintain high design quality and output in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Outstanding communication skills: able to articulate design decisions, present to cross-functional stakeholders, and discuss technical constraints and tradeoffs directly with engineers.
- Demonstrated success using design to improve business and customer outcomes, such as patient satisfaction, engagement, retention, or operational efficiency.
- AI Fluency: Understanding of how AI-driven features behave in-product (latency handling, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop workflows) and genuine interest in AI-assisted design tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing within clinical, healthcare, or health-tech environments, or in other regulated/high-stakes domains.
- Experience designing interfaces for complex data pipelines, dynamic real-time data, or decision-support tools.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an UI UX Designer
Frame your portfolio around systems-level thinking
TN visa adjudicators evaluate whether your role qualifies as a Computer Systems Analyst. Highlight projects where you designed information architecture, user flows, and system interactions, not just visual styling. This framing directly supports the specialty occupation argument.
Verify your degree field matches the role
The TN category requires a degree in computer science, engineering, or a directly related field. A fine arts or graphic design degree alone can trigger denials. If your credentials are in a borderline field, get a credential evaluation letter before applying.
Target employers with dedicated immigration support
Look for companies with recent visa filings for Computer Systems Analyst or related roles. Employers experienced with visa sponsorship processes tend to move faster and make fewer errors that delay your start date.
Search TN-sponsored UI UX roles using Migrate Mate
Filtering by visa type saves time when you're targeting roles where sponsorship is already built into the hiring process. Migrate Mate surfaces UI UX Designer jobs with active TN sponsorship so you're not cold-pitching employers who haven't considered it.
Get your support letter drafted before the offer closes
Your employer needs to provide a support letter detailing your specific duties, degree requirement, and TN category before you can file or appear at a port of entry. Delays here stall your start date. Ask HR to prepare it within 48 hours of your verbal offer.
Prepare for port of entry questions if you're Canadian
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a land border or pre-clearance airport without a visa stamp. CBP officers may ask about your specific design responsibilities. Bring your portfolio summary, support letter, and degree transcripts to answer on the spot.
UI UX Designer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does UI UX Designer qualify for a TN visa?
UI UX Designer roles can qualify under the TN visa's Computer Systems Analyst category, but the job duties must emphasize systems analysis, information architecture, and user flow design rather than purely graphic or visual work. The position description in your employer's support letter needs to clearly connect design responsibilities to systems-level problem-solving, and your degree should be in computer science, engineering, or a closely related field.
How does TN visa sponsorship for UI UX Designer compare to H-1B?
TN is significantly more practical for UI UX Designers who are Canadian or Mexican citizens. There's no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and Canadian citizens can obtain TN status at a port of entry without waiting for a visa appointment. H-1B visa requires employer sponsorship months in advance, a lottery selection, and a wait until October 1 for the fiscal year to begin. TN status can be granted the same day you present at the border.
Can a Mexican UI UX Designer get a TN visa?
Yes, but Mexican citizens go through consular processing rather than port of entry adjudication. You'll apply for a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, and the annual allocation for Mexican TN visas is limited. Processing timelines vary by consulate location and workload. Your employer's support letter, your degree credentials, and documentation of your specific design duties all need to be ready before your consular appointment.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that describes your job title, specific duties, the TN category you're applying under, your qualifications, and the terms of employment. For roles classified under Computer Systems Analyst, the letter should explicitly describe systems-level design responsibilities. The employer doesn't file a petition with USCIS for TN, but the letter is the core document reviewed at the border or consulate.
How do I find UI UX Designer jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Searching broadly and then raising TN sponsorship in interviews wastes time with employers who aren't familiar with the category. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking roles with TN visa sponsorship already factored into the hiring process. Filtering by visa type at the start of your search puts you in front of employers who understand TN requirements and have supported the process before.
