INTRODUCTION
Build the processes, tooling, and quality infrastructure that takes Fleetzero hardware from bench builds to production-ready assembly lines.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will own the intersection of quality and manufacturing engineering for battery module and BMS assembly. That means developing and qualifying assembly processes, writing work instructions and inspection criteria, and driving continuous improvement across the line. You will define what 'good' looks like for every assembly step — from incoming piece part inspection through end-of-line functional test. This is a hands-on role. You will be on the floor developing tooling, troubleshooting process escapes, and running experiments alongside the assembly team. The right person has a bias for building systems that make quality repeatable and visible, and does not wait to be told what to inspect.
BONUS POINTS
- Experience with battery module or power electronics assembly processes
- Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, or marine industries where process rigor and traceability are required
- Familiarity with IP67 or IP68 sealing processes and leak test methodologies
- Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, or similar structured quality methodologies
- Experience using or programming electrical test equipment (even if not the primary owner of test development)
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Process qualification for all assembly operations: weld quality, fastener torque, sealing/leak testing, harness routing, and module final assembly
- Incoming piece part inspection program: defining acceptance criteria, inspection methods, and sampling plans for all purchased components
- In-line quality checkpoints: developing and maintaining inspection records, checklists, and non-conformance workflows
- End-of-line functional test support: working with electrical engineering to ensure test criteria are well-defined and test processes are executable by line operators
- Assembly tooling development: specifying, procuring, and validating fixtures, torque tools, leak test rigs, and other production tooling
- Manufacturing BOM (mBOM) creation and maintenance, ensuring the manufacturing view of the product reflects current-state processes
- Production scheduling and line planning: managing which products run, when, and at what rate given capacity and demand
- Continuous process improvement: identifying and closing quality escapes, driving root cause investigations, and implementing corrective actions
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality engineering for complex electromechanical assemblies
- Demonstrated experience qualifying assembly processes, written process qualification records, control plans, and work instructions you have personally developed
- Hands-on experience with mechanical quality requirements: weld inspection, torque verification, leak/water ingress testing
- Working knowledge of electrical fundamentals: ability to read wiring diagrams and harness schematics, understand connector and wire gauge specifications, and follow basic electrical inspection criteria
- Experience developing or supporting end-of-line functional test programs for electromechanical products
- Comfortable creating and managing mBOMs in a PDM or ERP environment
- Able to lead root cause investigations and write clear, actionable corrective action reports
- Self-directed and organized: able to manage multiple open work streams without losing detail

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a QA Engineer
Frame your degree for TN eligibility
TN visa officers assess whether your degree field connects directly to QA engineering. A computer science or software engineering degree is straightforward. An unrelated degree paired with a QA-specific job description raises scrutiny, so prepare a credential analysis before applying.
Target employers with recent visa filings
Not every employer knows the TN process. Use Migrate Mate to find QA Engineer roles at companies experienced with visa sponsorship, so your offer letter conversation starts with a prepared employer, not an education session.
Audit your job title before submitting anything
CBP maps TN eligibility to specific USMCA categories, not job titles. If your offer letter says 'QA Analyst' or 'Test Engineer,' verify with your employer that the duties description explicitly aligns with Computer Systems Analyst work before the I-94 or consular appointment.
Get your offer letter technically precise
The offer letter is your primary TN evidence. It must state your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, the Computer Systems Analyst category, a specific end date, and a detailed duties description covering test planning, defect tracking, and release validation, not just a job title.
Understand Mexican nationals' consular appointment timeline
Unlike Canadians who cross at the port of entry, Mexican QA Engineer applicants must schedule a U.S. consular interview. Factor in current wait times at your nearest consulate and align your start date with your employer accordingly.
Request employer E-Verify enrollment before your first day
E-Verify confirms your TN work authorization with DHS. Confirm your employer is already enrolled before you accept the offer. If they're not, they'll need to enroll, which adds time between your accepted offer and your actual start date.
QA Engineer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a QA Engineer role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, provided the role maps to the Computer Systems Analyst USMCA category and requires a relevant bachelor's degree. Duties like test strategy development, automated testing, defect lifecycle management, and release validation support that classification. Generic 'tester' roles with no systems analysis component can draw CBP scrutiny, so the offer letter's duties section matters significantly.
How does TN compare to H-1B for QA Engineers?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no multi-year wait. H-1B visa requires a March registration, a random selection, and then months of USCIS processing before work authorization starts. For Canadian QA Engineers, TN approval can happen at the port of entry the same day. Mexican nationals need a consular appointment but still avoid the H-1B lottery entirely.
What documents does a QA Engineer need for a TN application?
You need a valid Canadian or Mexican passport, a detailed employer offer letter citing the Computer Systems Analyst TN category, and proof of your qualifying degree. If your degree is not from a Canadian or U.S. institution, a credential evaluation may be required. Canadians present these at the port of entry. Mexican nationals submit them at their U.S. consular interview.
Where can I find QA Engineer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals searching for U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. Listings are filtered for TN-eligible positions so you're not wasting time on employers unfamiliar with the process or roles that don't qualify under the USMCA Computer Systems Analyst category.
Can I switch QA Engineer jobs while on a TN visa?
Yes, but your TN authorization is tied to your current employer. You cannot start work with a new employer until a new TN petition or port-of-entry application is approved for that employer. Canadians can typically handle this at the border. Mexican nationals need a new consular appointment. Plan your transition timeline so there's no unauthorized work gap between roles.
