Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Security Project Manager
Frame your credentials around TN categories
Security Project Manager roles don't have a dedicated TN category, so your degree and job duties must map cleanly to Management Consultant or Engineer. Align your resume language to the qualifying category before applying.
Target employers with active federal contracts
Government contractors managing physical or cyber security programs regularly hire TN-eligible professionals and are experienced with the sponsorship process. Look for employers holding active DOD, DHS, or GSA contracts when filtering job postings.
Confirm the job offer letter covers TN requirements
Your offer letter must specify your title, duties, qualifying TN category, and that the role is temporary in nature. Missing any of these details can result in a denied entry at the border or a consular refusal.
Use Migrate Mate to find roles built for TN sponsorship
Search Migrate Mate to identify Security Project Manager positions where employers already understand TN visa requirements. This cuts out the back-and-forth of explaining eligibility to HR teams unfamiliar with USMCA categories.
Prepare your credentials package before border entry
Canadian citizens applying at the port of entry need your offer letter, degree transcripts, and any PMP or security certifications on hand. CBP officers assess qualifications on the spot, so documentation gaps cause immediate delays.
Negotiate TN status before your start date clears
Once you have a signed offer, confirm whether the employer will support TN preparation or expects you to file independently. Mexican citizens need consular appointment lead time factored into their start date, which employers unfamiliar with the process often underestimate.

Find Security Project Manager JobsSecurity Project Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Security Project Manager role qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is scoped and which TN category your employer uses. Most Security Project Manager positions qualify under Management Consultant if the role involves advising on security strategy, or under Engineer if it requires an engineering degree and involves technical security systems. Your offer letter must clearly reflect duties aligned to the qualifying category, and your degree must match that same category.
How does TN visa sponsorship for this role compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and can be processed at the border for Canadian citizens on the same day an offer is accepted. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through USCIS, a lottery entry in March, and a wait until October 1 at the earliest. For Security Project Manager roles that fit a TN category, TN is a faster and more predictable path than the H-1B lottery.
What documentation do I need to apply for TN status as a Security Project Manager?
You need a job offer letter that specifies your title, duties, qualifying TN category, and the temporary nature of employment, along with proof of your degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. If you hold certifications like PMP or CISSP, include those as supporting evidence. Canadian citizens present this package at the port of entry. Mexican citizens submit it through a U.S. consulate.
Where can I find Security Project Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa job searches and surfaces Security Project Manager roles where employers are already open to sponsoring USMCA-eligible professionals. This saves significant time compared to cold-applying to postings where TN eligibility is unclear and HR teams may not be familiar with the process.
Can Mexican citizens get TN sponsorship for Security Project Manager roles, and is the process different from Canadians?
Yes, Mexican citizens are eligible, but the process differs. Mexican applicants must apply through a U.S. consulate and are subject to a limited annual TN allocation, which means consular appointment timing and availability matter more. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a port of entry without a consular appointment. Both nationalities need the same core documentation, but Mexican citizens should build in several weeks of lead time for the consular process.
