Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Support Lead
Align your offer letter to TN categories
Support Lead duties span multiple TN categories. Ask your employer to frame your responsibilities around systems analysis, process improvement, or management consulting in the offer letter. A vague title alone won't satisfy the CBP officer reviewing your application.
Verify your degree matches the category
TN approval depends on a direct connection between your degree field and the TN category claimed. A computer science or information systems degree supports the Computer Systems Analyst path. A business degree pairs better with Management Consultant.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Use Migrate Mate to filter Support Lead roles at companies with recent visa filings. Employers experienced with visa sponsorship understand the support letter requirements and know what CBP expects at the port of entry, which reduces your risk of a border denial.
Prepare for the Canadian border entry process
Canadian citizens apply for TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry, not through USCIS. Bring your offer letter, degree credentials, and resume. CBP officers can issue TN status on the spot, so your documentation package must be complete before you arrive.
Request an employer letter that details your daily duties
Generic offer letters that only list your title and salary regularly trigger CBP questions. Your employer's letter should describe your specific tasks: team supervision scope, escalation responsibilities, and how those duties require a specialized degree.
Understand Mexican citizen consular processing timelines
Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate rather than at the border. Schedule your consular appointment well before your intended start date. Processing can take several weeks, and your employer needs to factor that into your onboarding plan.

Find Support Lead JobsSupport Lead TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Support Lead role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is structured. Support Lead positions can qualify under the Computer Systems Analyst or Management Consultant TN categories if your duties involve systems analysis, process design, or consulting functions and your degree aligns with the claimed category. Roles that are primarily supervisory without a specialized degree connection are harder to support under TN.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Support Lead positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be obtained at the border in a single day. H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance and a lottery selection. For Canadian and Mexican professionals with qualifying degrees and a role that maps to a TN category, TN is a faster and more predictable path to starting work as a Support Lead.
What documents does your employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead confirming your job title, a description of your daily duties, your TN category, your qualifications, and your intended start date and duration. The letter should explicitly connect your degree field to the work you'll perform. Incomplete letters are the most common reason CBP officers deny or delay TN applications at the border.
Where can you find Support Lead jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals looking for roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can search Support Lead positions filtered by employers who are already experienced with TN filings, which saves time you'd otherwise spend vetting companies that have never sponsored a TN worker.
Can you switch employers on a TN visa if you accept a new Support Lead offer?
Yes. TN status is employer-specific, so changing jobs requires a new TN authorization tied to your new employer. Canadian citizens can obtain the new TN at a U.S. port of entry with a qualifying offer letter from the new company. Mexican citizens need to return to a U.S. consulate for a new visa stamp before starting with the new employer.
