Entry Level Transportation Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level transportation manager job?
Entry level transportation manager roles typically look for candidates with a degree in supply chain, logistics, or business, though relevant internship experience or coursework in freight operations, routing, or fleet coordination can give you a strong edge. Highlighting any hands-on exposure to scheduling, vendor coordination, or warehouse workflows helps you stand out at this stage, even without years on the job.
Which companies hire entry level transportation managers?
Companies hiring entry level transportation managers right now include Walmart, Amazon, and Ryder System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The mix includes freight carriers, third-party logistics providers, retailers with large distribution networks, and manufacturers that manage their own fleets.
Are there remote entry level transportation manager jobs?
Yes, though most openings at this level are on-site given the hands-on nature of the work. About 18% of entry level transportation manager openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles tend to focus on coordination, scheduling, and vendor communication rather than direct fleet or warehouse oversight.
Are these new grad transportation manager jobs?
Yes, many of these roles are new grad friendly and include recent graduate and junior-level positions that welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience. A posting is typically new grad friendly when it lists an internship, co-op, or relevant coursework as acceptable in place of full-time work history, and when it emphasizes training or a structured onboarding program.
Which industries hire the most entry level transportation managers?
Entry Level transportation manager roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Retail, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they run high-volume shipping operations, distribution networks, or fleet programs that need coordinators who can grow into full management responsibility.
