Mid Level Transportation Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level transportation manager job?
Position your experience around ownership, not just participation. Highlight specific logistics challenges you led, cost savings you drove, or carrier relationships you managed directly. Tailor your resume to show decision-making authority rather than task completion. Recruiters at this level want to see that you can run a process independently, so lead with outcomes and scope rather than responsibilities.
Which companies hire mid level transportation managers?
Companies hiring mid level transportation managers right now include Amazon, AECOM, and Stantec, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes primarily from manufacturers, distributors, third-party logistics providers, and large retailers that need experienced managers to oversee day-to-day freight and carrier operations without constant senior supervision.
Are there remote mid level transportation manager jobs?
Yes, though most roles still require some on-site presence given the operational nature of the work. About 14% of mid level transportation manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements being the most common for roles involving vendor coordination, freight auditing, or network planning that can partly run through digital tools.
How do I move up to a mid level transportation manager role?
Growth into a mid level transportation manager role comes from building ownership over time. That means moving beyond executing tasks to managing carriers, coordinating with warehousing or procurement teams, and taking accountability for on-time delivery metrics. Demonstrating measurable impact, such as reducing freight costs or improving load efficiency, signals the readiness that distinguishes mid level candidates from entry-level ones.
Which industries hire the most mid level transportation managers?
Mid Level transportation manager roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Government & Public Sector, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring because their supply chains depend on experienced managers who can handle freight volume, multi-carrier relationships, and compliance requirements without needing step-by-step direction from senior leadership.
