We’re looking for a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team at Amethyst Veterinary Clinic!

Amethyst is a 100% privately owned and operated small-animal practice in Chandler, Arizona. We’re proud to be independent, and we intend to stay that way. We aren’t part of a corporate group, buying group, or larger veterinary organization. That independence allows us to make decisions based on what is best for our patients, clients, doctors, and staff rather than answering to people outside of our hospital.

More importantly, we’ve worked hard to create a clinic where people actually enjoy coming to work.

We have a genuinely great team. Our staff is experienced, supportive, hardworking, and fun to work with. We value collaboration and communication, and we want our doctors to feel supported without feeling micromanaged. We also have a wonderful client base that is invested in their pets and appreciative of the care our team provides.

Leadership is present, accessible, and involved in the day-to-day life of the hospital. If you need help with a case, have an idea, are frustrated about something, or simply want to talk through how something could work better, you won’t have to send an email up a corporate chain and hope someone eventually responds. We want our doctors and staff to know that their concerns are heard and that they have people around them who care about their experience at work.

What the position looks like:

Our doctors see a mix of medical, preventive, surgical, and dental cases. Full-time doctors have a balanced schedule with dedicated surgery days and appointment days, allowing you to continue developing both your medical and surgical skills while maintaining continuity with your patients.

We practice high-quality, evidence-based medicine, but we also recognize that good veterinary medicine is rarely one-size-fits-all. We encourage thoughtful case discussions, collaboration between doctors, and open communication with our technicians and support staff.

You’ll be supported by an experienced team and modern equipment, with an emphasis on quality over quantity. We want our doctors to have the time and resources they need to think through cases, communicate with clients, and provide medicine they can feel good about.

Who we’re looking for:

We’d love to meet a veterinarian who is kind, collaborative, communicative, and interested in being part of a team rather than simply working alongside one.

Experience is absolutely welcome, but new graduates are encouraged to apply as well. If you’re a newer veterinarian who wants mentorship, we are happy to provide it. Our goal is to help you build confidence and independence while still knowing that someone is there when you need to talk through a case, surgery, difficult client conversation, or decision.

For an experienced veterinarian, we want to provide the same supportive environment while giving you the space to use your experience, continue growing, and contribute to the medical culture of the hospital.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Holds a DVM or equivalent degree and is licensed or eligible for licensure in Arizona
• Enjoys small-animal medicine and building relationships with clients and patients
• Is comfortable with or interested in developing skills in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry
• Values evidence-based medicine and continued learning
• Communicates well with clients and coworkers
• Treats technicians, assistants, CSRs, and fellow doctors with respect
• Wants to contribute to a supportive, low-drama, collaborative workplace
• Cares about providing excellent medicine without losing sight of work-life balance

Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary: Starting at $68,000 annually, depending on experience, with additional quarterly production bonuses available through a transparent production compensation model.
