Search Nursing Jobs in ArizonaNursing Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for nurses in Arizona?
Banner Health is Arizona's largest private employer and a consistent visa sponsor for nursing roles across its Phoenix-area hospitals. Dignity Health, HonorHealth, and Valleywise Health also sponsor international nurses, particularly for registered nurse and specialty positions. University of Arizona Health Network in Tucson is another active sponsor, especially for nurses with critical care or academic medical center experience.
Which visa types are most common for nursing roles in Arizona?
Most internationally trained nurses working in Arizona are sponsored under the EB-3 immigrant visa category, which covers skilled workers and is commonly used for registered nurses. The H-1B is less common for nursing because most RN roles don't meet the specialty occupation standard. Some nurses enter on a TN visa if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, as nursing is a qualifying TN profession.
Which cities in Arizona have the most nursing sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs, including Scottsdale, Tempe, and Mesa, account for the largest share of nursing sponsorship opportunities in Arizona, driven by the concentration of Banner Health, HonorHealth, and Valleywise facilities. Tucson is the second-largest market, anchored by Banner University Medical Center and Tucson Medical Center. Flagstaff sees smaller but steady demand through Northern Arizona Healthcare.
How to find nursing visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter nursing roles in Arizona by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support work authorization. The platform surfaces positions from health systems and hospitals that have a documented history of sponsoring nurses. Searching with filters for Arizona and nursing roles gives you a targeted list without the guesswork.
Are there any state-specific considerations for internationally trained nurses seeking sponsorship in Arizona?
Arizona requires internationally educated nurses to obtain licensure through the Arizona State Board of Nursing, which typically involves credential evaluation through CGFNS or a similar body, passing the NCLEX-RN exam, and meeting English proficiency requirements. Arizona is a Nurse Licensure Compact state, so a multistate license obtained here is valid in other compact states. Employers generally require active Arizona licensure before a visa petition can be filed.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
