Which companies sponsor visas for physician assistants in Arizona?
Banner Health is the largest employer of physician assistants in Arizona and has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for clinical roles. Dignity Health, Valleywise Health, and the University of Arizona Health Network also sponsor international PAs. Federally Qualified Health Centers and Indian Health Service facilities in Arizona sponsor visas as well, often under cap-exempt provisions.
Which visa types are most common for physician assistant roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa for physician assistants in Arizona, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a master's degree. J-1 visas are used for PAs completing clinical training programs. Some PAs working in underserved or shortage areas may also qualify for J-1 Conrad 30 waivers, which allow them to remain in the U.S. after their exchange program.
Which cities in Arizona have the most physician assistant sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix accounts for the majority of physician assistant sponsorship opportunities in Arizona, driven by its concentration of hospital systems, specialty clinics, and urgent care networks. Tucson is the second most active market, anchored by Banner University Medical Center and affiliated practices. Flagstaff and the rural northern corridor also see demand, particularly from federally funded health programs serving tribal communities.
How to find physician assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters physician assistant roles in Arizona by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving significant research time. Rather than combing through general job postings, you can browse verified sponsoring employers in Arizona's healthcare sector directly on Migrate Mate. Filtering by role and state surfaces active listings from health systems and clinics known to hire internationally trained PAs.
Are there state-specific considerations for physician assistants seeking visa sponsorship in Arizona?
Arizona has a high proportion of Health Professional Shortage Areas, which increases demand for internationally trained PAs and can support J-1 waiver eligibility for those completing exchange programs. The state's large rural and tribal healthcare network means more cap-exempt employers than in urban-only states. Arizona also requires physician assistants to be licensed through the Arizona Medical Board, so international applicants should confirm credential evaluation requirements early.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physician assistant jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
