Search Software Systems Engineer Jobs in ArizonaSoftware Systems Engineer Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for software systems engineers in Arizona?
Intel's Chandler campus, Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, Raytheon Technologies in Tucson, and Amazon Web Services operations in the Phoenix metro are among the more consistent H-1B visa filers for software systems engineer roles in Arizona. Semiconductor firms like Microchip Technology, headquartered in Chandler, also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for this job category.
Which visa types are most common for software systems engineer roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the dominant visa for software systems engineers in Arizona, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. L-1B intracompany transferee visas are also common at large multinationals like Intel and Honeywell when engineers transfer from a foreign affiliate. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and can be processed faster.
Which cities in Arizona have the most software systems engineer sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and the East Valley cities of Chandler, Tempe, and Scottsdale account for the majority of software systems engineer sponsorship activity in Arizona, driven by Intel's large fabrication and engineering campus in Chandler and the broader tech corridor along the Loop 202. Tucson is a secondary market with steady demand from defense and aerospace contractors, alongside the University of Arizona's research operations.
How to find software systems engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, so you can search for software systems engineer roles in Arizona without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform is built for this search, which is useful given that sponsorship willingness isn't always stated clearly in standard job postings. Filtering by Arizona lets you focus on the Phoenix metro and Tucson markets where sponsorship activity is most concentrated.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for software systems engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Arizona's concentration in semiconductor manufacturing and aerospace means many software systems engineer roles involve export-controlled technology, which can affect visa processing timelines due to Technology Alert List reviews. Engineers applying to positions at Intel, Raytheon, or Honeywell in Arizona should expect that security and export compliance screenings may add time to the hiring and sponsorship process. The University of Arizona and Arizona State University also feed a steady supply of OPT-eligible engineers into the local market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software systems engineer jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
