ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

At this time, we are looking for a Test Apprentice to join our AmerCable Team.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety procedures and regulations; Identify and participate in resolution of workplace hazards; Support an interdependency safety culture.
• Support and seek opportunities to reduce environmental impacts through waste reductions, recycling and reduction of pollution of air, water, soil and resources.
• Is responsible to stage reels in test bay
• Is responsible to open cable ends
• Is responsible to prepare conductors for testing
• Is responsible to secure test ends of cable for transport to next operation
• Is responsible to keep a clean working environment
• Support testing by entering completed test data in the Electrical Test Database
• Is responsible to deliver tested products to the next process of operation
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Comply with AmerCable 5S standards at all times
• Adheres to all AmerCable Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
• Follows and abides by Mattr Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, both verbally and in writing, is required
• Good reading comprehension and basic math skills are required
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, is required
• Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
• Must be able to operate a forklift
• Must pass AmerCable lift truck operator safety course
• High school diploma or GED is required
• Must be able to operate a work station computer
• Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 50 lbs
