Assistant Baseball Coach
Lyon College invites applications for an assistant coach of its baseball program with a tentative start date of May 18, 2026. The primary responsibilities of the assistant coach include assisting in practice and game preparation, recruiting, field maintenance, and monitoring athletes’ academic progress. Additional responsibilities include teaching a limited number of physical education courses and other duties as assigned. Applicants with coaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level preferred. B.A. required; M.A. preferred.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of recruiting regulations as set forth by the NAIA, NCAA D3, and the college’s chosen conference.
- Assist in monitoring athletes’ academic progress, assuring all athletes are making satisfactory progress toward a degree and meeting NAIA and NCAA D3 eligibility guidelines.
- Assist in practice and game preparation.
- Equipment care and inventory.
- Be active in professional organizations of your sport.
- Attend all athletic staff meetings.
- Assist in all areas of recruiting and retaining student-athletes as designated by the head coach.
- Assist in scouting of opponents.
- Assist head coach in making sure all game day procedures are taken care of.
- Assist in all fundraising efforts.
- Option to work summer camps.
