INTRODUCTION
As part of the Pearson Clinical Psychometrics team, Measurement Specialists, also known as Statistical Analysts work closely with psychometricians in conducting statistical analyses needed for the research and development of clinical instruments, such as intelligence tests, language ability tests, personality tests, or achievement tests. As part of this work, statistical analysts will primarily focus on assisting in the planning and coordination of statistical analyses, development of SAS programs required for test development activities, checking results of data analyses, and reporting questionable results. We are looking for candidates willing to reexamine assumptions, ask probing questions, take ownership of their roles and responsibilities, and who view all interactions as opportunities to make ourselves, each other, and the work continuously better.
PRIMARY WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares, writes, and executes computer programs for data cleanup and data analysis according to plans and specifications.
- Maintains, updates, and operates existing computer programs for analysis required for test projects.
- Maintains written documentation of all programming procedures and file structures for each project.
- Coordinates and manages databases as required for test development activities.
- Applies given formulas to obtain required statistics for various types of analysis.
- Assists with checking results of data analyses, applying prescribed criteria, and reporting questionable results.
- Provide quality control procedures for the production of reports, publications, and other materials.
- Writes logic in programs to obtain required parameters to ensure data quality.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard SAS code.
- Archive data and handle data requests from authors or customers.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various project stakeholders.
- Be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions while interacting courteously with others.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in statistics, data analytics, or a related field
- One year of programming experience in SAS, or 6 months of programming experience in SAS with SAS certifications as Base Programmer and Advanced Programmer. Six months of that SAS experience should include experience with SAS Macro and SAS SQL.
- Knowledge of research, statistical, and data analysis procedures including appropriate data displays
LOCATION:
This position is eligible for a flexible work environment, including the ability to work from home, provided the employee has the appropriate means to work remotely, including but not limited to privacy of records, technology standards, equipment standards, and expectations.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $60,000 - $65,000.
