THE ROLE: The Paint Line Operator will be required to load and unload parts on paint line conveyor: mix paints, touch-up parts and operate paint burn-off equipment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must be capable of mixing paints and visually inspect parts for proper viscosity.
- Must be capable of reading all shop orders, hanging proper tags, and identifying parts.
- Must be capable of loading/unloading parts up to 50 lbs on conveyor line.
- Must be capable of using computer to clock/transfer shop orders.
- Must maintain records with accurate piece count.
- Must maintain quality and quantity standards.
- Must visually inspect and gage work for quality.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains proper care of equipment.
- Maintain good communication with production supervisors, machine operators, managers, and other support personnel.
- Must be positive team contributor who works well with all team members.
- Participate in training activities, both on and off site.
- Work safely by following all safety policies, procedures and actively participate in all site safety programs.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
- Manufacturing/production environment experience desired but not required.
- Forklift operation experience desired but not required.
- Must have the ability to work with moderate to heavy weight materials.
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role, the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. The physical demands may include but are not limited to occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds, and prolonged exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
SALARY:
The hourly pay range for this position is from a starting rate of $xxxx to $xxxx. At Xylem we offer a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, vacation pay based on year’s of service and eleven (11) paid holidays.
