Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions architects in California?
Large enterprise technology companies are the most consistent sponsors for technical solutions architect roles in California. Salesforce, Google, Oracle, Cisco, Adobe, and SAP have established sponsorship programs and regularly file H-1B visa petitions for this role. Mid-size cloud and SaaS companies headquartered in the Bay Area and Los Angeles also sponsor, though the process tends to be more structured at larger organizations with dedicated immigration teams.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions architect roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions architects in California, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1A and L-1B transfers are also common for candidates moving within a multinational company. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and faster processing.
Which cities in California have the most technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and the broader Bay Area account for the largest share of technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs in California, driven by the density of enterprise software and cloud companies headquartered there. San Jose, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale are particularly active given Cisco, Oracle, and VMware's presence. Los Angeles is a secondary hub with growing demand from media tech and enterprise SaaS, and San Diego has opportunities in defense tech and life sciences IT.
How to find technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for technical solutions architect roles in California without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform surfaces employers who have an active history of sponsoring work visas for this role type in California, saving significant research time. Filtering by location and role on Migrate Mate gives you a focused list of genuine sponsorship opportunities rather than general job listings.
Are there any California-specific considerations for technical solutions architects seeking visa sponsorship?
California employers are subject to the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements when filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications, and the Bay Area wage levels for technical solutions architects are among the highest in any U.S. metro, reflecting local market rates. California also benefits from a dense pipeline of international talent from UC Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, and USC, which means many employers here have well-established immigration processes for technical roles compared to employers in smaller tech markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions architect jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
