- Perform scan-to-CAD workflows, including mesh cleanup, retopology, and A-surface reconstruction for production-ready CAD models.
- Reverse-engineer legacy parts, prototypes, and assemblies to support design and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with industrial designers and engineers to integrate scan-based CAD into product development.
Metrology & Dimensional Quality
- Operate and program CMMs, portable arms, laser trackers, and optical scanners.
- Develop and execute dimensional inspection strategies aligned with GD&T.
- Generate inspection reports, capability studies (Cp, Cpk), and statistical trend analyses.
- Validate dimensional accuracy, repeatability, and uncertainty across production processes.
Tolerance Stack-Up & Variation Analysis
- Conduct tolerance analysis and stack-up simulations using CETOL, 3DCS, or VSA.
- Correlate simulation outputs with scan data for predictive dimensional risk assessments.
- Deliver tolerance-driven design recommendations and drive assembly quality improvements.

- Ensure color, material, and finish (CMF) integrity is maintained through precise surface and visual inspection.
- Collaborate with design and CMF teams to validate aesthetic and tactile qualities alongside dimensional quality.
Occasional Visualization Support
- Provide renderings or visualizations to aid in stakeholder communication.
- Present scan data and reverse-engineered models in clear, visual formats for reviews.
Qualifications, Skills and Education:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and CAD surfacing.
- Proficiency with CMMs, laser trackers, structured-light scanners, photogrammetry systems.
- Advanced skills in scan processing and surfacing software (Geomagic, PolyWorks, Artec Studio, CATIA, Alias, Rhino, SolidWorks).

- Direct experience with tolerance stack-up tools (CETOL, 3DCS, VSA).
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Design.
- Expertise in A-surface modeling, NURBS fitting, and Class-A surfacing workflows.
- Familiarity with CMF measurement tools and integrating appearance metrology into validation.
- Background in manufacturing processes (stamping, composites, machining, injection molding).
- Rendering experience in KeyShot, Blender, V-Ray, or Unreal Engine.
- Strong communicator capable of translating dimensional and surface insights for cross-functional teams.

Which consumer goods companies sponsor TN visas in California?
Several large consumer goods companies with California operations have a history of sponsoring TN visas, including Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Kimberly-Clark, PepsiCo, and Nestlé. Sponsorship patterns tend to concentrate in companies with dedicated HR and immigration infrastructure, particularly those running regional headquarters or large distribution and manufacturing facilities in the state.
Which cities in California have the most consumer goods TN sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles and its surrounding metro area, including the Inland Empire, account for a significant share of California's consumer goods employment given the region's logistics infrastructure and port access. The San Francisco Bay Area attracts consumer goods companies with a technology or e-commerce focus. San Diego also sees demand, particularly in health and personal care product sectors.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN sponsorship in consumer goods is most common for roles that map to a listed TN occupation category. Engineers in manufacturing, packaging, or quality assurance, accountants supporting finance functions, scientists in product development or regulatory affairs, and management consultants working on supply chain or operations projects are among the role types that frequently qualify. The job duties and required qualifications must align with a recognized TN category.
How do I find consumer goods TN sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by TN visa type, the consumer goods industry, and California as your target state to see roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. This is more targeted than general job searching because the listings are curated for candidates who need TN sponsorship, saving time you would otherwise spend screening employers manually.
Are there California-specific considerations for consumer goods TN sponsorship?
California's strict labor laws, including strong worker classification rules and pay transparency requirements, affect how employers structure roles, which can indirectly influence how a TN position is defined and documented. Consumer goods employers in California also tend to require clear specialty occupation-equivalent credentials given the state's competitive hiring environment, so having a degree and job duties that align tightly with a TN category is especially important here.
