Which companies sponsor visas for nursing assistants in Delaware?
ChristianaCare, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the mid-Atlantic region, is among the most active employers for nursing assistants in Delaware and has a history of international hiring. Bayhealth Medical Center and several long-term care and skilled nursing facilities operated by national chains such as Genesis Healthcare also operate in the state and have sponsored work visas for clinical support staff.
Which visa types are most common for nursing assistant roles in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is generally not available for nursing assistant roles because the position typically does not meet the specialty occupation requirement of a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Most internationally hired nursing assistants in Delaware come through the EB-3 immigrant visa category, which covers skilled and unskilled workers, or through TN status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying healthcare support roles.
Which cities in Delaware have the most nursing assistant sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington, as Delaware's largest city and home to ChristianaCare's flagship campuses, sees the highest concentration of nursing assistant openings with potential visa sponsorship. Dover, the state capital and home to Bayhealth Kent Campus, is the second-most active market. Newark and Middletown are growing suburban healthcare corridors where outpatient and long-term care facilities are expanding their clinical support staffing.
How to find nursing assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters nursing assistant roles in Delaware by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from manually screening hundreds of listings. You can browse verified sponsoring employers across Wilmington, Dover, and other Delaware markets in one place. Creating a profile also helps you track applications and stay updated when new nursing assistant sponsorship openings are posted in the state.
Are there any Delaware-specific considerations for nursing assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Delaware requires nursing assistants to hold a current Certified Nursing Assistant credential through the Delaware Nurse Aide Registry before starting work, so international candidates should account for the time needed to complete CNA certification if they haven't already. Delaware's proximity to Philadelphia and the broader Tri-State area means some employers recruit across state lines, so a Delaware-based search may surface roles tied to regional health systems with multi-state operations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing assistant jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
