Which companies sponsor visas for nursing assistants in New York?
The largest sponsors of nursing assistant roles in New York include NYC Health + Hospitals, Northwell Health, Montefiore Medical Center, NYU Langone Health, and Mount Sinai Health System. Large long-term care operators and staffing agencies that place CNAs in New York hospitals and nursing homes also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data as H-1B and PERM petitioners for healthcare support roles.
Which visa types are most common for nursing assistant roles in New York?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for nursing assistants in New York, as many CNA roles qualify as unskilled or semi-skilled positions under that category. Some employers also file H-1B petitions for nursing assistants who hold specialized credentials. Foreign-educated applicants who pass the NCLEX or obtain New York State CNA certification may be better positioned for employer-sponsored immigrant visa filings.
Which cities in New York have the most nursing assistant sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the greatest concentration of nursing assistant sponsorship jobs, driven by the density of large hospital systems and long-term care facilities across Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. Buffalo and Rochester also show consistent demand, particularly in hospital networks and skilled nursing facilities. Albany and Syracuse represent smaller but active markets tied to regional health systems and state-run care facilities.
How to find nursing assistant visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters nursing assistant jobs in New York specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, saving you from manually sifting through listings that won't lead anywhere. You can search by city, facility type, and visa category. For CNA and nursing assistant roles in New York, the platform surfaces positions at health systems and long-term care operators that regularly file PERM and H-1B petitions.
Are there state-specific requirements nursing assistants should know before pursuing sponsorship in New York?
Yes. New York requires nursing assistants to hold a current CNA certification registered with the New York State Nurse Aide Registry before beginning work. International candidates typically need to complete a state-approved training program or have their foreign credentials evaluated for equivalency. New York also sets prevailing wage requirements that employers must meet when filing labor condition applications or PERM applications, which affects which facilities actively pursue sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing assistant jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
