Which companies sponsor visas for software quality assurance roles in Delaware?
Financial institutions and life sciences companies are among the most active sponsors for software quality assurance roles in Delaware. Firms like JPMorgan Chase, Capital One, and AstraZeneca have filed Labor Condition Applications for QA and software testing positions in the state. Defense and government contractors operating near the Wilmington corridor also appear in sponsorship records. Sponsorship activity varies by year and hiring cycle, so checking recent LCA disclosure data through the Department of Labor gives the most accurate picture.
Which visa types are most common for software quality assurance roles in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for software quality assurance professionals in Delaware, as QA engineer and SDET roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may be eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the software engineer category. L-1B transfers are also used when candidates are moving from an overseas office of the same employer.
Which cities in Delaware have the most software quality assurance sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington is by far the most active city for software quality assurance sponsorship in Delaware, driven by its concentration of financial services headquarters and technology subsidiaries. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, sees QA hiring from companies that partner with the university's engineering programs. Dover has a smaller but present tech employment base, largely tied to state government IT contractors. Most sponsored SQA roles in the state are concentrated in New Castle County.
How to find software quality assurance visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and you can filter directly for software quality assurance roles in Delaware. This removes the guesswork of sorting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. Beyond the job board, reviewing Department of Labor LCA disclosure data shows which Delaware employers have actively filed for QA positions under H-1B, helping you target your applications toward companies with a documented sponsorship history in this role category.
Are there any Delaware-specific considerations for software quality assurance visa sponsorship?
Delaware's relatively small geographic footprint means the QA job market is concentrated, so networking within Wilmington's financial and life sciences tech communities carries more weight than in larger states. The University of Delaware's computer science and engineering programs create a steady local talent pipeline, which can affect competition for entry-level sponsored roles. Because Delaware has no major standalone tech hub, many SQA positions are embedded within larger enterprise IT or R&D functions rather than pure software product companies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software quality assurance jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
