Which companies sponsor visas for certified medical assistants in Florida?
HCA Florida Healthcare, AdventHealth, BayCare Health System, and UF Health are among the larger Florida employers with established HR and immigration infrastructure that have sponsored healthcare support staff. Federally qualified health centers and large multispecialty groups in South Florida and the Tampa Bay area also appear in sponsorship filings, though individual hiring decisions vary by facility and staffing needs at the time of application.
Which visa types are most common for certified medical assistant roles in Florida?
The H-1B visa is the most widely discussed option, but certified medical assistant roles must qualify as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is not guaranteed for all CMA positions. Candidates with qualifying degrees in health sciences may meet this threshold. Some internationally trained candidates also explore TN visa status if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals and hold qualifying credentials under the USMCA occupation list.
Which cities in Florida have the most certified medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Orlando, Tampa, Miami, and Jacksonville concentrate the highest volume of certified medical assistant openings in Florida, driven by the density of large hospital systems, outpatient surgery centers, and specialty clinics in those metro areas. The Orlando and Tampa corridors in particular have seen sustained healthcare hiring growth tied to population increases, with AdventHealth and BayCare operating large networks of ambulatory care sites across both regions.
How to find certified medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters certified medical assistant listings in Florida by employers who have a history of visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search directly for Florida CMA roles where sponsorship is a stated or documented employer practice. Setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for new Florida postings helps ensure you see openings as they appear, since healthcare positions often fill quickly.
Are there state-specific considerations for certified medical assistants seeking sponsorship in Florida?
Florida does not require state licensure for certified medical assistants, but most employers expect an active CMA credential from AAMA or RMA from AMT. Employers filing H-1B petitions must submit a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the occupation and geographic area. Florida's high volume of Medicare and Medicaid patients also means many facilities operate under federal compliance requirements that can influence how positions are classified and sponsored.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored certified medical assistant jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
