Which companies sponsor visas for certified medical assistants in Washington?
UW Medicine, Providence Health and Services, MultiCare Health System, and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health are among the larger Washington employers with established HR infrastructure for visa sponsorship. Community Health of Central Washington and Sea Mar Community Health Centers also hire CMAs and have experience with international applicants. Larger health systems are generally better positioned to manage the sponsorship process than small private practices.
Which visa types are most common for certified medical assistant roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly pursued visa for CMAs, but eligibility depends on whether the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree, which can be difficult to establish for CMA positions. Some applicants explore TN visa status if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship and meet the relevant occupational criteria. EB-3 green card sponsorship is another pathway some Washington health employers use for clinical support roles.
Which cities in Washington have the most certified medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Seattle has the highest concentration of CMA sponsorship opportunities, driven by UW Medicine's multiple campuses and a dense network of specialty clinics. Tacoma and Bellevue also see consistent hiring through MultiCare and the Franciscan network. Spokane is a secondary hub with health systems serving eastern Washington. Rural areas through programs like Washington State's community health center network occasionally post CMA roles as well.
How to find certified medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify Washington CMA roles where employers are open to international candidates. Rather than sifting through general job postings, you can browse certified medical assistant positions across Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, and other Washington cities with sponsorship status already surfaced. Migrate Mate is built for international job seekers navigating the sponsorship process.
Are there state-specific considerations for certified medical assistants seeking sponsorship in Washington?
Washington requires CMAs to hold current certification from a nationally recognized body such as AAMA or AMT, and employers will expect this regardless of immigration status. Washington's prevailing wage requirements apply to sponsored positions, meaning employers must pay the wage level set by the Department of Labor for the Seattle-Tacoma or relevant metro area. Washington's large federally qualified health center network sometimes offers sponsorship pathways not available through private employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored certified medical assistant jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
